Ok I will try to make it simpler imagine driving a straight line across the side of a smooth mountain instead of going up or down, the machine is leaning most of the weight on the down hill side that tire is pointing straight because that is the way you want to go the top tire on a toe in alignment is trying to fight you down hill, on a toe out alignment it is trying to help hold your front end up hill.
I mentioned toe out is for hard core off roading.
