Tool and med kit in trunk

Newbie here: I was able to find a tool kit for the trunk and it seems to work well. Now I have a first aid kit that’s a little bigger than I’d hoped. Looks like I can bungie it on top of tool kit next to the power steering on my 700-4. Any thoughts on this? Will I be restricting airflow to the radiator?

You shouldn’t be restricting air flow. There is a shield that pushes the air flow out the sides under your kits. The only concern is if anything gets caught in the fan. IE straps or danglers from bags.

Wondering if there is a spot under the roof on the ROPS you could strap the med bag to? It would be more easily accessible there too. Great idea to carry a first aid kit!!

The heat generated in that location is going to wreck havoc on many contents in that first aid kit. Elsewhere in the SXS would be better.

I Forgot about the stuff inside. I did keep my kit of stuff there for a while. The heat didn’t affect anything but it got wet and muddy. I had to take it out after every ride. Now I strap it down in the bed and it’s more accessible that way. 😉

Yep, medications, creams, ointments and adhesives all break down rapidly in excessive heat and could be ineffective when needed, despite what things may look like. OSHA has guidelines for this.
