As I wait to pick up my new machine I am wondering.
I think stock it will run about 40mph
What speed are you guys seeing if you turn off the limiter?

It may actually run faster with bigger tires, downhill anyway.

On flat ground, mine will run 43 using a GPS for speed measurement. That's with 28" tires.

The rev limiter cuts it off at 45mph on the Honda speedometer. I'm not sure if you can override that or not but I don't think I would want to. It's pretty wound out at that point. A good cruising speed is around 35-40 in my experience

Mine was turbocharged with extra rubber 46.4 but it was pissed 43 was stock speed. I agree with Tflynn 35-40 top speed without upsetting the balance of life. 35 runs pretty quiet. Swsebec mentioned beer and that does help it:)

Since I started this thread I did get the rig. I have had it up to 30MPH. It's fast enough. It feels unstable but that might be the new tires.

Many of you have removed the sway bar. Does that make it feel less stable at higher speeds?

At speed it absolutely will. Disconnecting that gives better separation of tire travel which is not what you want for hauling ass down a dirt road. Great for off road as it gives better suspension travel and traction. The suspension will smooth out a bit check tire pressures a little higher for high speed but at 30 it's really pretty stable I think it's just new to you

I didn't notice that much difference at higher speed with the bar removed but definitely some when I first did it. You get used to it. It's worth it for the better articulation In my opinion.

That surprises me you didn't notice more I did. A sway bar is designed to drop both sides as one goes down it forces the other done rather then going up opposite of the cornering wheel. It's designed to corner considerably better. If there was a sudden sharp turn it helps limit the body roll that flips you. But in all truth everyone is different and act differently to different situations so if it suits you better don't let anyone tell you anything else:)

Tflynn did you try the disconnect with people riding in with you? Did it feel ok with a load?

Could be why I didn't feel much difference. I've got a two seater and rarely do I ever have a passenger. Plus I don't really have anything mounted up high that's heavy. And I've got fox suspension too so maybe all those things together makes it harder to tell. All that being said, I do still carry the links with me in case I decide I want to hook it back up. That's one reason I recommend people at least try it, all it takes is four bolts and a few minutes!

We kept the fox shocks aftermarket wheels tires windshield and wiper for the 700. Sucks wheels won't fit the 1000 I'm sure hoping the shocks do. If they do I know cranked up they will be good. I am selling the other stuff if you know anyone will ship

I also removed the sway bar and it doesn't feel unstable at all when riding alone or with one passenger. Much better ride and better traction. I can slide it sideways on grass and never check up.

BUT, I've rode with two adults which adds extra weight in the back and then I can tell the seat bar is missing.

How cool an option would it be if Honda came with an electric disconnect for the sway bar like the Dodge power wagons have and jeeps install

I can tell you that mine shuts off at 43 mph. That feels pretty f***ing fast on a gravel road. Feels like I am floating on the road and I usually end up backing off the throttle.
