I just followed their instructions. I used 4 car ramps to make it easier to access. Other here tip it on its side with a winch or something. Replacing the self tappers with nutserts would be better. I've had to replace almost half of mine in 1.5 years I've had the skids. Dont over tighten them, I stripped out 2 self tappers on my 5 seater and 1 on my 3 seater.Anyone have any tips on installing trail armor skid plates, I see that there a lot of self tapping screws that need to be installed on the 1000-5 Pioneer?

What he said. I used some out of an assortment kit off of Amazon. I bought the tool there also. I've had some spin and had to redo them. I cant weld worth a s*** or I would go that way also.I would suggest weldables if that’s in your wheel house. The nutcerts have a tendency of spinning
Put the side rail stiffeners on to prior to the skid plate I wish I would have known about them when I before I put mine onAnyone have any tips on installing trail armor skid plates, I see that there a lot of self tapping screws that need to be installed on the 1000-5 Pioneer?
What side rail stifferners are you refering to? I have made my order but have not received the kit yet, scheduled for next week.Put the side rail stiffeners on to prior to the skid plate I wish I would have known about them when I before I put mine on
Some people have used these and welded them on others have used some Angle Iron and bolted them on like here in post 8What side rail stifferners are you refering to? I have made my order but have not received the kit yet, scheduled for next week.
With the stiffeners you would have to weld in place and I'm not a good welder, can they be held in place with self tappinig screws without interfering with the Trail Armor skids?
I think I would go with the angle iron protects it two ways plus it just bolt right inWith the stiffeners you would have to weld in place and I'm not a good welder, can they be held in place with self tappinig screws without interfering with the Trail Armor skids?
I would like to know how and what method did you bolt the angle iron, photos would be nice.I think I would go with the angle iron protects it two ways plus it just bolt right in

A unit??If you're using nutserts, drill the hole with a unit rather than a drill bit and you'll get a better fit. You want a tight and round hole for a good crimp. I haven't had any spin and I've had to extract 4 or 5 of my bolts after breaking the heads off wheeling
Unibit sorry I'll update the post, must have autocorrectedA unit??
