I'd say it's comparable but not equal in quality. The straps seem to be the same material Honda used for the straps on the soft top. So that matches. The Honda one has a removable panel I believe. The tusk does not. It's hot and sunny here today and I've been running the P500. The rear panel definitely reduces airflow at slow speeds. But that's a good thing. I have not tipped out the windshield yet and ridden like that. I rode a lot last night too and it was nice having the rear window on there. Still very satisfied with it.
I definitely am interested in ordering it as well. I just can't figure out with certainty that the solid part won't extend below the Honda roof. Thanks for the info that you have provided.

Sorry I must have missed that. The top edge of the rear panel goes just above the rear horizontal roll bar. It velcros to that bar and just rolls over the top of it slightly. Hope that helps

That sounds like the clear would begin about at the bottom of the Honda hard top then. Does that sound right to you??

I rode a lot over the weekend. Lots of dust. The window works great.

Well now, that's a good point, the Tusk doesn't have a section in the center that opens up.

I would say...
mostly better in winter
against cold...
but does keep the
dust down...
Haven't rode in summer with it on yet
....if it holds in to much heat...
I'll just roll the whole thing up

I'd like to know how the thickness of the Mylar, the stitching and strap size compare between the Honda and the Tusk. ehart says comparable, but not equal. Though I don't know if he's seen the Honda screen.

I can't say for sure since I haven't owned the Honda one. But I did see one in the Honda dealer. I guess the bottom line for me is The zip out feature is really nice, but it's not worth an extra $70 to me. The tusk window seems very thick. I really like how heavy the materials are. I've logged some hard trail miles now on the tusk and I'm still very pleased with it. I'd be happy to take some close up pics if there is something specific you would like to see up close.

No that's ok ehart, I think based upon the information you've already provided that I'm going to get the Tusk. Than you.

I broke one of the side buckles on Saturday, just realized it yesterday. I whacked a tree pretty hard on the passenger side roll bar. The plastic buckle took a hard hit and broke. It still works great, I just ran the strap through and tied it.

Definitely not a quality issue. Can't fault the plastic buckle for not handling abuse from the driver. :)

So the buckle needs to be moved to the inside of the roll bar if possible to protect from that???
