I believe over 50 citations were issued just in Tackett Creek area in Claiborne and Campbell Counties. TWRA was even halfway up No Business Hollow trail checking and writing tickets. Pretty sure all are mandatory court appearances, total fines with costs were around $285 - $380 not including a few DUI issues as well, which are same as if in the highway.

I have a hard time believing they would ticket someone for picking up empty cans/bottles aka trash/litter from the trail. I would suspect there is more to the story. Hopefully I don’t find out the hard way at the end of the month that it wasn’t

TWRA has about 6 KRX's out on the trails now, wait until they pull up behind a big group rolling up to the checkpoint and catch someone throwing out their alcohol / empty containers. That will be a $3000 fine and 100 hrs of community service. A few are waiting to make that example of someone too, especially out of state trash pandas.
