Had the passenger side fender off today so I could plasti dip it and discovered these two red wires crimped together and they are incased in hard clear resin. Does anyone know what their purpose is for?

Its just a just a multi wire connection point. Could be positive, a ground, or a trigger wire.
Its not used for anything other then to connect those wires together.

I'm not sure but it looks like where the electro-magnetic fly repelled plugs in.
@Hondasxs wasn't there a patent for that a while back?
It's like only used on the blue hood ones, all the rest have the harness capped off like in the picture.
I know, this would have been funny if I had beat Hondasxs to the punch.

FYI, I work with some guys that have dirt bikes and ATVs, showed that post with the blue Dixie cup and the little picture of your P700 on the side with the same color hood.
Unbelievable, we all had a good laugh.
No ofence taken I had to post it on here cause it was one of those u should've been there moments. Good call on the fly repeller, I could've seen me now riddin trough the woods with a bug zapper hangin from the ROPS. Be even funnier if Honda recalled all their blue SxS's because of deer flies.

It's Honda's new junction box idea. The old ones were bad if they ever burnt a connection, because the whole harness had to be replaced. this way, you could melt the resin, replace the wire and cover it back up.
