I am seriously considering buying the Walker Evans Shocks and have read everything I can find in this group. I have a very specific question concerning the ride improvement. I do a lot of riding on the roadside power line right of ways at my hunting lease. The biggest issue I have with the stock shocks is how harsh they are when running over exposed pine tree roots. The power lines have a lot of these exposed roots. It is like running over a 1" metal pipe. Can those of you with the W.E. shocks tell me how much of an improvement will the W. E. shocks be when running over these roots?
Thanks

They improve the ride across the board compared to stock shocks but are most noticeable at higher speeds. If you're creeping along you're still going to feel everything.
Yup. The faster you go, the better they work. That said, don't expect to be riding on a cloud. You're still only working with 6" of travel. I know this might be a shock considering most of us P5 guys are used to having to cope with much more than 6".

I don't crawl down the power lines, but I don't go balls to the wall down them either. My Labrador loves to run beside the 520 on the right of ways, so I am usually between a high revving 3rd gear and a low revving 4th gear.

Get them. You won't be disappointed. Like others and I say , they are magical at speed. When I purchased my p5 in 2015 I thought it would have a super plush ride with 4 wheel independent suspension etc. It was good but just not the Cadillac ride my mind had conjured up. With the WE's it's Cadillacin ! And if you don't have power steering get that too. Let us know what you decide.

For your use case the Elka shocks might work better.
WE is not as sophisticated.

However larger tires at lower pressures might be better bang for the buck.
(Larger diameter with out going to a crazy width)

I also run over many tree roots in my travels. I run 26" 2.0 Big Horn tires at 8 psi with the WE shocks. The WE shocks make a definite noticeable difference, even at slow speeds. Stock shocks felt like a 4 out of 10. WE shocks felt like an 8 or 9 on same tree roots. 100% worth the cost. Buy once, cry once.
