This retirement BS is strenuous!
Stupid tax lawsThis is an older picture of my shop (2018-2019) right after I finished it. It is a 36X40 with a 12ft ceiling. All the walls are sheetrocked, taped/floated, and painted. The back wall is not finished cause the county will tax my shop as a livable space if I finish that wall. I have made a bunch of changes to the shop and added quite a bit of equipment. I will post some more pics when I am feeling better and can get out of the house. I put 20" of blown-in insulation in the ceiling. This spring, I am adding on to both the north and south side of my shop making it 64ft wide instead of 40ft. After that, I will be adding on the west side with an outdoor kitchen/mother-in-law suite.

I know, right? Bob (@NewHere2) uses the same trick for his cabin here in the hills to benefit from the lowered taxes.Stupid tax laws
Can't hide money! Thanks Tram for giving me a reason exhibit my place. I’m pretty proud of it and a bit spoiled. I call the shop “my living room”. We built our shouse, barndominuim or whatever you want to call it 10 yrs ago after spending many years renovating an old farm house just to sell. Garage side started out as just bare studs and I’ve finished it over the years. Garage is 72w x 48 deep. I split 32x48 to insulate heat and left 40x48 cold storage. Also built a loft with a couple rooms and a balcony which I am still working on. Full bath and extra laundry as well. Short of kitchen sink, stove and microwave it has everything. I absolutely love it. No walking thru cold or rain to get to shop, warm cars in the morning. Can wash cars or work on whatever all winter. Great place to hang out with friends and family.
I’ll be waiting for standard TripleB response to follow.

Love those barns!!!!! Not something you see in Central Texas!Working on it…gonna cut a 10’ x 7.5’ hole in the front on the left and add a sliding door. I need to tear out the existing dairy cow concrete floor and pour a new one. The upstairs hayloft is getting converted to living spaces too.
