Wayehutta OHV Trail Ride 6/9/18

It's supposed to rain this weekend and I and a couple of friends are riding at Wayehutta OHV trail system in western NC near Culowhee. If anyone is interested fell free to comment.

It was a fun ride for the most part just being able to explore a new area. Although it wasn't a terribly large area, it had a few nice trails. Their difficult rated trails were more like moderately difficult and there wasn't many. There were lots of bunny hops which led me to believe that the courses were set up more for Motocross. My buddy brought his little Honda 100 that he's had since he was 9 years old and he was definitely having lots of fun. I brought the 15 YO kid I mentor and we were able to get him to ride comfortably on my buddy's ATV. It was his 1st time operating an ATV. A 2 stroke automatic Polarputter which smelled like a hellish burnt out weedeater riding behind it! I had a flat on one of my front tires which I believe was caused b y hitting the same big rock two too many times, but I just switched it out with a spare I had brought and my buddy Cody broke his rear fender. All in all it was a fun day and there were a few other riders of all ages, out there playing, although most were riding ATV's and only 2 popo's with a spattering of dirt bikes. Like all of NC riding areas, we had to purchase a $5- 1 day permit to ride from a local gas station. At the end of the day, I was feeling pretty beat up from all the bunny hops but I did manage to get airborne a few times.

Thanks for the heads up Dan. I've never heard about these trails before. Shows to be only an hour and a half away(77 miles). May have to check into making a trip over there sometime.
