Greetings,
I just got some new tires for the 1000.
For the back are Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 Tire, Size is 27 x 11 x 12
For the front are Maxxis Bighorn Front Tire, size 27 x 9 x 12

I used the company's configuration information for the wheels (rims) and all four showed up as 7" wide. I took them to be mounted and this is where the confusion came in. Basically, 7" is to narrow for both sets of tires.

My question is, what should be the correct wheels size for these tires?

Thank you in advance.

Run the 7in wide rims. It will make the sidewall stick out a little bit and protect the rims better. I'm running 7in rims with 10in wide tires you will be fine.

A customer support guy recommended + or - one inch from the middle number;
So, for front rims would be 8" or 10"
back would be 10" or 12"

Based on the above, 7" would be really really thin for the back.
I don't trust customer support most of the time. Almost Everyone I know runs 7In rims. My foreman 400 has 7in rims with 11 wide tires and everythings fine.

Here's my Rubicon when it had 11s on the rear with 7in rims. All it will do is balloon the tires out and protect the rear rims better.

can i run rear wheels on the front ? looking to run lt truck tires and needing rims of the same size but dont want to buy all new wheels.
You would have to run a 1 inch spacer on the front with a rear wheel or it can rub the arms. You can run 4 fronts for sure. This is with the 12 inch steel wheel. The 14 inch aluminum wheels have the same with and offset as the 12 inch steel wheels so I bet you would need a spacer with the 14 inch also.

so with the 14" wheels i can run all four front wheels without the need for any spacers ?

Yes but you will be more narrow in the rear. You can run like that or even out the stance with a spacer in the rear. Unless you're a dead eye dick, you won't see the difference unless you get a tape measure out.

In a perfect world your customer service reap would probably be correct. In the real world, the one we live in, most of us are doing something similar to your plan.

On the advice of many experienced members here I put a set of Tensor Regulators size 28x10x14 on a set of Honda SE wheels. The tires seal well around the bead and provide a correct contact patch with the road surface.

I didn't measure my wheel width but probably similar to your 12" wheels.

The fronts are 6.5 inches wide and the rears are 8 inches wide on both the 12s and 14s.

was just looking at buying some new tires on the local market and nearly clicked the button to purchase 4 tires at the size of the rears.... as always huge thanks to the data in this board as it once again prevented me from making a dumb mistake!
