I'm thinking there must be significant changes coming for the 2017 models because the dealers are giving mega discounts on the 2016s around here. My new car dealer friend says Honda must be offering significant rebates to the dealer on the 2016s to make these prices possible. They sure didn't do that to help them move the 2015s.
Yep.

We can always hope but I would be highly surprised if there is something out that that would supplant or cannibalize any of their current inventory. That just doesn't make good business sense. You always want to eat into your competitors market share not your own. :)

It also seems odd that they would bump up incentives on the 2016 models because they are going to be replaced before making any definitive announcements about any replacements.

But I wasn't involved with looking at any of this prior to this year so maybe they do things differently.

However, since I am finally making up my mind and buying one this week, it would be the highest probability possible that an announcement about a Honda Ubermachine will occur next week.

I expect to see all the carry over models plus some 4 seat bucket seat versions. Its time for some sport models too. The dealers need more models and I think Honda is listening to their dealers. The Pioneer 1000 set a new standard for the utility market and I expect Honda will do the same with Sport models. The $20,000 and up market is small so I expect we will see some $10,000 to about $18,000 Sport models from Honda and hopefully this year.

You are usually right. So I am very interested to see what is coming up. I assume the bucket seat models probably one include the P1000 or do you think they would add that so quickly after release?

The 2017's must be right around the corner because one of the only Powerhouse dealers in WI just posted 2016 P1000-5 Deluxes for $15,499 OTD on Craigslist. I still dont expect to see much difference between the 16 and 17's other then the "heat shield" being on it.

14 P700 to 15 P700 got better frnt shocks and catalytic converter.

Polaris added the Ranger 900 with bucket seats and a center console the 2nd year. Its an easy upgrade and there is a market for bucket seats. High end shocks would also be an easy upgrade.

I agree with small upgrades. I see Honda adding bucket seats to the 700 and the 1000. if it was me the 700 would get bucket seats with a flip up and down center console. the 1000 will get a full center console with added storage. I hope they do put aftermarket shocks on them, fox, walker evans. that would be awesome....

I don't think the P1K-5 needs much. Lower reverse gearing, fix the heat problems, and better shocks is about it. I like the seat just the way it is and would not want buckets and a console taking up all that great room in front. Save the buckets and console for the sport model. It wouldn't take much to make the P500 an even better tight trail machine. Fix the heat problem, locking differential, turf mode, and better suspension. Maybe a bed option that wouldn't even have to be a dump bed. The P700 needs better suspension, 5 Speed transmission with turf mode, and a higher top speed.

i agree a 4 seat sport model would be nice. I hope to see a sport model from Honda this year. between the bucket seat patents and new tie rod/ steering patents along with suspension. It seems Honda has something up there sleeves and is keeping very hush hush right now. Today is already july 7th and still not even a round about release date for this month on current or new models for the sxs lineup. With that being said and Honda keeping everything so quiet makes me think Honda will wait last minute for the release and hopefully surprise us all.

I put my money on next week.... This is because Honda has always liked announcing things around the 13th of the month.
As for me... I expect to see an updated 700 with more options and only small updates to the 500 and maybe the 1000.

Yes. HONDA has announced a redline release for "most" of the 2017 model lineup set for this Thursday morning.

Predictions:
- 500 gets an automatic button.
- 700 gets paddles.
- 1000 will receive minor update.
- will not see a sport.

If they offer bucket seats on a p1000, I hope they can be retrofit. Being able to switch out the front would be a nice option
