I mounted a 12v winch to the roll cage on my 1000-5 just behind the front bench. The purpose is to use it to assist in lifting deer into the bed solo. I thought it would be ok to wire it up to a plug in for the cigarette lighter plug, but when I use it to lift some weight it blows the 15 amp fuse. Should I book it up to the battery with the alligator clips direct or get it's own battery for it?

Yeah, that winch is going to pull a lot more than the cigarette lighter plug will handle. I would wire in a set of removable jumpers you can plug into direct to the battery.

Make sure you look up the Amp rating required at different loads. I am sure this winch is going to pull more than 15 amps. Winch are normally in the 100 to 300 amp range. Proper cable size will also help
