While my wife and I were riding a little before sundown in a northern Nevada desert area (no trees) it was difficult to see through the windshield of our 1000-5 as we were facing into the sun. Yes I realize that sun glasses would have made a difference but I"m wondering if anyone has put a strip of tint across the top of their windshield, 4 to 6 inches wide, seems like it would work just like it does in a car or truck. Any thoughts?

Yeah, that would help. They also make flip down tinted sun visors.

Our factory glass windshield is tinted glass. How we ride it’s needed so it won’t scratch We absolutely love it. Gotta have more light to compensate at night but that’s not a problem.
We’ve tried amber, bronze and grey. We stayed with grey because it looked better but I will admit the amber was nicer at nighttime. 076794FB 923C 42CD 9B6C 85198481DB7E

I tinted my whole hardcoat Honda windshield with genuine 3M 35% smoke tint. I think the line was "Colormaster" or something. Won't peel or fade or turn purple but it's hard to find and pretty pricey. Works very well.

Do you night ride? If so how does it work at night?

No night riding but I would imagine it would be pretty hard to see through at night. (Think dark tinted rear window on a truck at night.)

What I was thinking, wouldn't mind a 6 inch strip across the top of the windshield though. Well that was stupid, I don't have a full windshield yet! But I do have a helmet with internal flip down sun shade, HA!

My truck windshield is tinted 50% over the entire thing! Driving at night is fine, takes a bit more concentration, but easily done.

Was looking on line at RJS 5 point belts, want to take a closer look at yours at The Take Over. Showed them to my wife (Melissa) she really liked the twist turn release! Thanks for sharing!

Give them a call and see if they will build you a set.
I like pull down style for shoulder harness, but think pull-up would be easier on the lapbelts. Sub belt can go either way, you tend not to mess with that too often. Any reputable speed shop should be able to point you in the right direction.

BCF harness bar for shoulder belts.
Lap belts I used factory seatbelt mounts and hardware. If I do it again, i'll get 7/16-20 bolts instead of the factory shoulder bolts.

Submarine belt will be installed when it gets home. I have some parts on order to install those.

For sub belt?
I ordered a set of eyebolts with a big washer. Going to install those into the 1x1 tubing right under the seat. Then I will install a clip style mount into the sub belt.

Here is the bcf bar and the harness.

Do you have Mrs NEOHIO's side done differently than your side at the top?

Both are the same.
Right now I have shaft collars installed on the bar to keep the harnesses from sliding.
@Ragnar406 shared a link to harness retainers in another thread. As soon as the machine is home, they are being installed.
