Is there a way to turn off the wireless remote function on this but still have the dash rocker switch work?
I would like eliminate the possibility of a random RF signal activating the winch, but not interfere with the rocker switch. I can easily disable the winch controller from allowing the winch to function, but it also disables the rocker switch.

If you added an aftermarket wireless remote, like this..
Wireless winch KEY ON Power

All you have to do is unhook or add a switch to the key on power.
.
If it was bought as a combined unit you will probably have to add a switch to the key on power side. I think I read about a few owners adding a switch to the IN side of the winch remote wires. That way if there was any stray RF signal, the winch would only go out.
.
Have a good day

Following @Mark in Northern Iowa direction.
That picture is of the newer viper remote.
And if you have the older one with the gray handheld, its actually the same, just different color wires.

Mine has a power button on the remote box that has to be on to use the remote but my dash switch is always on, regardless.
Viper #6000 elite widespool.
Humm...
Not sure that's right. But I know it works.

Next time. Dont push that button... instead, hold both the IN and OUT for 5 seconds.
See if it starts working.

With this model. Gray remote.
Once you initially program it you should no longer need to push the button on the control box.
To "wake" the unit, you push and hold the IN & OUT button for 3-5 seconds.

Looking further into the wiring I found a couple of connections to fuses.
One is a smaller gauge (larger diameter) red wire with a 20A fuse. If I pull this fuse out the dash switch will not operate the winch, but the remote will still work. So, I'm guessing this wire provides 12V to the switch.
The other connection is two larger gauge red and yellow wire connecting to a 1A fuse. If I remove that fuse the remote will not work, but the dash switch will. From looking at the wiring diagram and info that you guys provided I'm guessing this goes to the black box that is the receiver and relay for the remote.
The above video also shows the red and yellow wires spliced together and connected to a switch. Looks like all I have to do is disconnect these two wires from the 10A fuse and connect them to the fuse through a switch. To disable the remote function.
This will work, but I'm curious about the wiring diagram provided above. It shows the yellow wire going to the relay contactor, not 12V power. This is not what I have.
Does anyone know the function of all of these individual wires? I like to fully understand the function of something before modifying it.

Which version of the viper wireless boxes do you have.
Gray remote?
Or black remote?

I see them combined in the video.
I'm not sure what happens if split.
Neither should be going to the handheld switch and both to the wireless box.

The handheld switch should have its own power (red) wire.

I don't have a handheld switch, but a dash toggle switch. This switch must have its own red wire going to the 20A fuse. From what I found, with this 20A fuse removed the dash switch won't work, but the remote still works.

Ended up removing the red and yellow wires from the hard wired to battery fuse and connected them to an un-used fuse on the Auxbeam switch box. I can now turn the remote on and off through an Auxbeam switch.
