I have LED strobes that I want to wire up to my dual battery setup but I'm missing something and need another pair of eyes. I have them wired but they are solid and I can't change the pattern. Also, the bottom light on the switch pulsates similar to the pattern of the strobe and the top LED won't come on. I have the OTRATTW switch with dual lights. It's supposed to be Bottom light is on when the switch is off, bottom and top light are on when the switch is on.

Attached are two images. The first one is how the lights came to me. The second is how I have them wired now but the strobes are "solid on" and the button won't change the pattern. Also, the top light of the switch doesn't come on. Someone tell me where I screwed up.

From what I read, the white wire going to the strobe selector switch needs to ground out to change the pattern. it's soldered to a circuit board that the positive and negative of the switch were also soldered to. I'm guessing that when I push that bottom, something on the circuit board used to ground it out?

Also, I've tried a LOT of different combinations and popped a bunch of fuses for my switch panel lights. Good thing for fuses!

Thoughts?

Your hot wire going to middle of ott switch needs to go back to strobe selector like it was.

You need just one hot wire coming from battery or keyed source going to + of the ott switch. You currently have 2 which is why fuses keep blowing

The ott switch needs to control the hot wire going from battery/fuse to the strobe control

Judging by his "as arrived" pic I think the ottrattw switch needs to control the red wire going from the fuse block into the bottom left of the square but I could be wrong.

Does The selector control strobe off/on?

If no. Then this is what you need. View attachment 104020

Yes I think this is the right way. It should be one of the 2 drawings you posted but I think this is the right one.

Thanks guys. So to allow this system to work, I need to have 2 switchs in place? When I look at your diagram @Hondasxs and your explanation @Cuoutdoors, it makes sense. I'll wire that up tonight and see if it solves the issue.

Thanks for the review!

Does the selector control on/off?

If so. Why not just use that?.

The selector does control on/off, however it doesn't fit into my switch panel nicely and match the rest of my switches. It's all about uniformity!

What I'll do is just leave the "selector" switch in the ON position all the time and use the OTR switch to be the Main Power for the unit

Post a pic of the selector switch. What functions does it have? You may be able to use a type of dual position switch to do the job and eliminate your selector switch.....

I'll send it when I'm home. Really, if I have to bury the selector switch in the dash and just leave it on, it's ok. I have it hidden under the hood now so that I can hit the selector if I need to, just not from the cab.

You guys are great, I don't know how I missed how easy this was.

I wired it exactly as @Hondasxs suggested and it worked great. I mounted the on/off/selector switch to the control box with some doublesided 3m tape and mounted everything under the hood. I just leave that switch on all the time and control the power with the OTR switch.

Now I just need to figure out the best place to mount the strobes. Thanks so much!

Sorry for the long delay. Here is the switch that changes the strobe pattern. I wired it back to the way it was when I got it, which is also the same way HondaSxS described.

Here is a video of the strobes.
