Hello - There are similar posts but I’m still a little foggy on how to wire up the switch. Easy question I’m sure. I have a new 5000lbs winch ready to install on my Pioneer 1000-5. The winch came with a factor harness, solenoid and controls. I want to swap out the factory switch for my 10 pin rocker and I can’t figure out how to wire switch prongs 1 thru 6. 7-10 are just the lights on the switch and those are connected to an ignition wire. The factory switch has a green and black...how do I jump/wire them to get it working properly? Pics would be awesome.

I included the switch and winch wiring diagrams.

Thanks in advance for any replies!!

Hi,
So, disregarding the light (pins 7,8,9,10)

2 is your key-on HOT wire
1 and 3 would be green and black.
They are interchangeable.
Reverse them if winch runs backward.

Ok.
EzPz.
Thanks.

Thanks. So I can leave 4,5,6 blank? Sounds like I don’t need any jumpers on this one.

Sorry for bringing up a post so old but I just got this same switch. The viper winch I bought from the club store came with a handlebar mount. Looking back I should have just got the switch with it but oh well.
I cut off the handle bar switch and there are three wires in it. Green/black/red. I’m can’t find out what the red goes to? Half way down the harness there’s another red sticking out that shows to be key on. I hooked it up omitting the red at the switch and it doesn’t turn on. I’m sure it’s super simple I just don’t want to mess anything up. Any help would be appreciated.

Yep..
The red wire is your power. One end needs to be hooked up to a 12v. the other end is the feed for the switch.
The green and black wires at the switch are your output to the seneloid.
One is the IN the other is the OUT.
Depending on which one (green or black) gets power will control the winch.

I'll break down the switch pin layout.
Pin # 10, 2, and 8 need the red wire.
Pin # 1 needs the green
Pin #3 needs the black.
Pin #9 & 7 need to be grounded.
Leave 4, 5, & 6 empty.

If winch runs reverse. you can flip flop 1&3
