On the way out yesterday I located the tie downs as shown in the Honda owners manual. Basically, locating on the roll cage. It trailed aweful and was moving so much one of the straps came loose.

On the way back I strapped to the A arms. It trailered great and didn't move. Is this the correct location to strap? On the roll cage and bumper just moved too much.

I never liked tieing off to "sprung" parts of a rig either. Way more stable and safe when going to the lower parts of the rig.

I chain thru the front bumper. Then throw a good ratchet across the floorboards and go at it until it squats about an inch.
No problems.

I tie to front lower arms then to the rear hitch. I I try not to compress suspension much when strapping. I also use cargo buckle straps so if it does bounce it just tightens the strap.

I was ratchet strapping the rear too.. now I have cut to length chains for the rear that hook into the rear tie points I've added. This allows for the perfect weight distribution every time.

I use two strap son the front a-arms and run a strap behind the receiver in the back. Works great, no movement or loosening of straps.

I'm thinking about adding something up there to keep from threading my chains through the bumper for trailering.

I think it would be helpful for being pulled out / me pulling someone out, too.

Twice this weekend I had to turn around 180 in the mud to hook off my back rec'r hitch. Getting folks unstuck.

I'm thinking about adding something up there to keep from threading my chains through the bumper for trailering.

Mine are just half inch D-rings from Amazon.. I drilled two holes in the bumper and used a piece of bar stock with matching holes as a plate for the back. Mine came in a pack of 4 so I bought 1 3/4" exhaust clamps and made tie points for the rear.

Similar to what the manual shows. I bought straps with hoops sewn in them to hook the strap hook back to the strap after looping around the bumper

You might want to be carefull if pulling a stuck buddy out tied off to the front of you. With reverse being a higher ratio gear than first gear you could be straining the 1st/reverse clutch a little more than if you were pulling them forward. Just my .02cents

Not a p1k here, but a 700, I prefer straps, cinch it down and its not flopping around, yeah I might wear a little paint off but the mud will hide it.
