So I have noticed over the last few times taking mmy 1000-5 for a spin that if I turn the key all in one motion to start it, it will start pretty sluggish for a second or two. If I turn the key half way for one second and let the fuel pump start up, it fires up much smoother. Anyone else's do this? I think it might be normal, but I never noticed it in the past.

It is normal mine does the same thing nothing to be concerned about, I have always had a habit of turning on the ignition for a couple seconds before starting anyway it comes from driving a Diesel, not a bad practice on gas either just gives pump time to build pressure,,,,,

Mine does it every now and then. Nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I pause in the "run" position until I see my dash normalize and all the clicking/priming stops and then I fire her off. It gives the ECU a chance to sense engine temperature, air temperature, air pressure etc so it can inject an optimal air/fuel ratio along with proper ignition timing.
