Still like new at 13,042 miles, 662.9 hours. Would be 28,000 if I didn’t have my 2016 Yamaha YXZ with 15,000 miles and 3 other Hondas. The YXZ has a 5 speed with a clutch pedal. My Yamaha has had a few problems, no spark, water pump seal, drive shaft oil seal leaking, speedo, etc. Try to get some big miles on a belt drive without some huge belt drive repair bills. At 11,777 miles I replaced the shift cable and one exhaust mount rubber. $30,00 in parts. The clutch update smoothed out the take off especially in reverse.

Have you had to replace any wheel bearings or brake pads or rotors?

Just tires. With proper maintenance and a very good air filter most of the side by side engines should go 40,000 to 60,000 miles. I add an additional pre filter and wash it out at every oil change. Some brands have the air intake in a dusty location. On my 500 and 700 I run the air intake up under the roof and add a pre filter. The air filter on my 700 was still fairly clean at 6,500 miles but I replaced it due to age.

Man that is awesome! I know from experience the Honda motors are near bullet-proof & will last a long time if properly maintained & operated with-in reason. I have just under 1100 miles on my '16 P1000 3 seater & have had no problems with it. Keep on truckin' & keep us informed as the miles roll on!

@hondabob what kind of fluids are you running when you are doing your maintenance? Honda GN4? What about in the differentials? By the book or i see some are running 75w140?

I'm getting ready to change EVERYTHING and i figure with those kind of numbers and no problems, you are the guy to ask!

The Honda oil is ok but I run Mobile One 10w40 full synethic motorcycle oil. In the dif's I run Valvoline 75w90 full synethic. I'm at 18,807 miles now and it still runs like new. The suspension and trans are just like new. Still only $30.00 in repair parts. My Talon R is getting close to 4,000 miles now. I don't bottom out the suspension and don't drive in deep water. I use low range when necessary and keep it off the clutch. Getting to 3 mph quickly in low range and 6 mph in high range. The Talon is more like 4 and 7. With the new oiling upgrade the clutches will take a lot of abuse but I would like to see the next owner to get to 40,000 with still no major problems. The mud, rocks, and deep water will shorten the life a lot but still with good maintenance the Hondas last a long time.
