P500 15 lb. Weight gain

According to Honda website , the 2016-2017 p500 gained 15 lbs. Since it's introduction (2015) model year.

Where did it get the extra 15 lbs. From ?

2015 1,010 lbs. Wet

2016-2017 1,025 lbs. Wet

I could see the 2017 model being slightly heavier do to the added AT , but the 2016 should not have changed !

NYS goes by the dry weight for determining if it is an ATV (along with width). The earlier P500 model is classified as ATV. So, it had to be registered, but as such, can go on state trails. Wondering if the new dry weight puts it over? It was close, but don't remember what it was.
