P1000 18-20 fuel pump update

i saw this posted on a facebook forum. Is this real or fake news?

If you own a 18-20 model, you need to contact your dealer and have them run a PRODUCT update with your VIN number for a possible fuel pump update. This is not a recall. So be sure to mention PRODUCT update. Or call Honda at 8667841870.

Did yours show?
I think that just shows official recalls sent to CPSC, mostly safety recalls.
This is considered a "product update", which is like a "good will" recall, not safety related.
I dont think those show. Would have to call your dealer.... Who most likely doesn't have a clue about it.

Maybe I don't have the best understanding. I looked mine up and it only showed recalls, not any product updates.

No problem. They couldn't make it any more confusing could they.. lol.

Recalls are usually safety-mandated CPSC recalls. I think only those are shown on the VIN check site.
Product Updates are more like "good-will updates". It's not safety-related, but Honda is doing the right thing and issuing a notice to get your "x part" replaced at no cost within the "update" window.
The fuel pump thing is a Product Update.
