We looked at a 2018 P500 yesterday. Private seller. Said he'd take $8k (had it listed for $8,600).

Has a roof, windshield, rear plastic window, Harbor Freight winch, 800 miles/100 hours.

Overall it seems to be in pretty good shape. Few dents here and there. Needs an oil change and mud/dirt removed. Ran good - although I'm not sure how the transmission was supposed to feel, shifted hard than I thought it would, but it sounds like that's how they shift?

Is this a good price? They seem hard to find right now. I called a dealer and they'll have and handful in next week. $9,750 plus tax for a new one.

Thanks!

Think the P500 price dropped with the 520 release. Maybe do a NADA value for your zip code. Here is Ga area without HF winch, so maybe add $50 used value if a 3500. Just a guess.

Thanks - never thought to check NADA! They did drop the price to around $8,400 for a new one. With dealer fees it's $9,750 + tax. So, over $10k for a new one.

Forgot to say that it probably needs new tires, which is why he went down $600. I'll see if I can get him to go any lower...

Needs tires, cleaning and has trail rash. Nothing really wrong with any of that but he's not trying very hard. Your offer is fine.
I agree, it’s funny how some people ask a premium price for something but won’t even put a little time into cleaning or serving the machine before putting it up for sale. Even though I haven’t seen the machine I would be leaning towards 7500 as the Max price.

I also agree that your $7,500 offer is good for both parties. If he balks at it, there will be other used machines come up or the new option will be there too.

Agree $7500 is a fair price especially because of the mileage and hours and maintenance cost.

You rarely find one used around here in NW Oregon.
Supply and demand.... High demand, low supply = high prices. Especially when you can't even get a new one.
Same with Pit bikes, RV's/toy haulers etc.....

This is old but I'll add my input.

I know I personally would go lower face to face.

When someone asks what the lowest I will take over a text message I don't like it. If it is in person and they point out a few things, I usually drop a little more than I would over the phone.

So, If it's close enough, bring $7,500 and look at it in person. If you don't like it or the guy won't go lower, walk away!
