I kind of thought the sectioned frame would be a better approach, especially if you allowed your customers to buy the section they need - which they didn't - since most of the damage would be up front.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with the front end design.

Thicker tube in that area and the a-arm mounts are redesigned to be like the lowers vs the 1 long bolt.

I’m excited to read about the new updates, and enjoy reading all the comments, but I’m also wondering if the 2016 Pioneer 1000 that I purchased on 12/29/22 will be reliable long term, comparing to all these updates on the ‘22 models! It has 1040 miles and so far it’s been excellent.

Yes,
The Pioneer 1000 drivetrain is reliable, There is a guy pushing 70k miles on one.
But reliable is relative to the use case as well.

I am thinking that the lights and rear view will only be on the overpriced models, and not deluxe or base. I wish they would just include a roof and decent shocks on the deluxe atleast... that seems to be table stakes with the competition.

Looks like Honda pushed the release back until mid Feb.

Until then, They will release a few more of the 21 models they have hiding in warehouses to make it appear something is flowing at mother Honda.

New muffler, injectors, throttle body, air filter, camshaft, and colder spark plugs like the Talon should provide more HP. The cooling system is improved with a new radiator, fan, coolant tank, and Talon water pump. New flywheel and stator. Lots of gearing changes and a new 6th gear with sub trans improvements and gearing changes too. New axles and 14" wheels with 27" tires. All the improvements make me want to buy another one. I had 3 Pioneer 1000's and it looks like I will have another one. When in locker mode the power steering was boosted to give easy steering so I would forget I was in locker mode sometimes until I hit the speed limiter. I really liked being able to carry a larger motorcycle for back up in case I break something on my long remote solo rides.

Interesting. This makes you wonder if Honda took the guys saying Nissan this and crown Vic that tie rods work great. I wasn't so sure about making a threaded inner tube but if Honda is going to sell us 1 I would be tempted.
