Torq-Masters better ramp up their production of the torque locker for i4WD models ;)
Adding Torq Locker to an I-4WD unit it like wearing a mask full time with a 98.9% chance it's not needed. Don't know of any full time rock bouncer Pioneer 1000's. Ran many miles in parks with Class IV rock trails in my 2018 LE. Never had an issue or had to winch when the "superior" fully locked 1000 Deluxe units didnt have to as well.

I agree. If I had a LE or Talon, I wouldn't get the locker because your destroying the benefits of the i4wd. But and I mean a big but, the talon should at least give the option of a locker for the few that wanna build a full on rock climber/axle breaker lol.

No argument there, I-4WD for 75% of riders and full lockers for the extreme and anti electronics / budget conscious crowd.

How does the i4wd do in yards as far as not tearing up the grass?
I don't know, I have no "yard" to mow. Just 11 acres of mountain / rocky terrain around the house. For the record my LE has Turf mode I run in 80% of the time ( which I do prefer for handling). Only Talon had locked rear dif.

Is your LE the one with 11K+ miles on it? Not sure if you had 2 rigs or not.

Yes approaching 12k miles now. No issues just expected maintenance. At 10K replaced all bearings, bushings, ball joints to keep things tight. Did have front prop shift u joint very loose as well as front left outer CV joint, just replaced them. Never broken any thing, or breaking down on me just replacing items found during maintenance and inspection.

  • So the deluxe doesn't have i4wd as originally suspected. I wonder if any other features from the LE will trickle down, like cupholders, etc. I doubt suspension would as the Forest model still has the generic suspension.
  • A small thing, but a nice touch if all models have the mirror. Likely the safety team wanting to avoid a suit; not Honda being generous. :)
  • Trail seems to be the old SE
  • Forest is between the Deluxe and old LE. Weird that it only comes in Camo... Wondering if there is another SKU to be found...
  • It will be interesting to see which SKU's canada gets, and hopefully we get some more colour choices.

It is really odd they keep pushing the announcement back. I mean if it was just a supply chain issue, you think the marketing team would step in here, and say "hey all the pre-orders are going to the competition if we don't announce something by Feb at the _latest_. Who cares if it takes they a year to get their product". I know honda doesn't really take pre-orders, that is handled at the dealership level.

Maybe they really aren't 100% sure of the feature sets, or engineering designs are not 100% final. But with part numbers leaking, this doesn't really make sense either.

The only thing I can think of would be the finances. They haven't decided on pricing yet, or perhaps incentives. It would be nice if they offered an incentive for pre-orders because people know they are going to have to wait so long to get the machine delivered, I know Ford and GM are doing that on trucks to encourage people to put money down even though they know they won't see the vehicle for many months.

Anyway their timing is really curious.

  • Guess not.
I think the parts fish was updated or was wrong. I specifically checked the m5d and it did have the VSA module. That's the i4wd unit.
    Now it doesn't.

That did seem odd to think that they'd go to i4wd in everything but the base. That would've added a lot to their sticker across most models.

Glad to hear it.
We are still not sure on this.
The parts fish did show most models had the VS controller. Now it is showing differently.
