This is for official group rides the volunteer Guides can list in one place for Wednesday, May 29th through Saturday June 1st 2024.
I will try to update this post and the next two reserved posts for Group Rides by day / date.

If you want to Guide a group all volunteers appreciated, just start a conversation with me with the particulars and will share below accordingly.

THURSDAY, MAY 30TH 2024

@TripleB Ride to Brushy Mountain Prison -
Leave at 9:30 AM from the Mexican restaurant.

Going the quickest route by trail. Will go by the train first and then on to the prison. I'm only gonna stay at the prison for 1 hour. Long enough for the drunks to drink and everyone else to eat. No time to tour the prison unless you're not a drunk or you ain't hungry. Several miles of blacktop that's unavoidable. The trails are mostly blue trails. So it's mostly a moderate to easy. Plan on 10 hours but who knows. We will do some backtrack.

OR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

@Vondy Thursday - JELLICO/TACKETT LOOP - Easy to moderate ride. Leaving from Rock Ridge Campground at 9:30AM

Will be riding road up to Jellico area and hit water trail, Primroy arch, Triple Arch cave, and Rooster Cone Overlook. Time permitting we will then will head towards Tackett and hit the popular sights there. Leave with full tank of fuel, have lunch and drinks for the day. I have 5 machines in our group going and welcome more to join us.

OR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

@JACKAL - Guided Ride through New River Unit. Easy- Depart 10AM SHARP / RRB STAGE.

Moderate trails, showroom stock machine OK / family friendly trails. Recommend to pack snacks / lunch. Approximately 100 miles 8 Hr. Ride with several stops at overlooks and a waterfall, and stop at Smokey Junction / Hembry Bologna Store for sandwiches / ice cream in afternoon

UPDATE: Did this New River Loop today 5-5-24 GPS Tracklog attached to this post below. (JACKAL)

@TripleB - Leading a group to Standing Stone Friday - Gonna leave from the Mexican restaurant at 9:30 am.

Gonna go in the way we all came out on standing stone trail. Instead of going on out standing stone trail through the winching spot, I'm going off on the cave branch trail. It's still rough going that way but no winching unless you mess up. I did this yesterday and wouldn't be afraid to do it in a stock 500. A stock 500 may have to winch a time or 2, maybe not. Both trails are black(difficult) trails but they are in the best shape I've seen them in several years. . Plan on 8 hours. We may add some stuff to the ride depending on how everything goes. But my only goal is to make it up to the top and back down. Anything else is just extra. It's a good challenging trail with very low risk of carnage. But not zero risk lol. Plus you get to see a cool ass rock. Aliens put it there.

OR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

@JACKAL - Brushy Mountain Prison Loop approximately 120 miles.
Depart 9AM SHARP RRB Stage

Trip info - approx. 2.5 Hrs to BMP - 3Hrs at BMP for tour / lunch / gift shop - 5-6 Hrs. back by trail. Return Approximately 8-9 PM. Easy Trails/ Family friendly. Recommended for those who have never been.

The return trails route is 80% different from the past 3 years, less pavement / less gravel & more trails with Mill Creek Waterfall on edge near Brimstone.

The attached route starts and ends near Shoney's in Caryville, does not cover from RRB to Caryville but easy to figure out.

@JACKAL - Guided Trail Ride Depart 10 AM Return by 5PM Sundquist Waterfall Loop approximately 55 miles and 6 waterfalls 6-7 hour ride with several stops. Easy Trails subject to not having heavy rains during week prior.

I do not have a track for this loop that departs and returns from RRB as that changes the direction I would go.

GPS TRACKS
Attached to this post, I will share the tracks of several good saved routes for the Guided Rides. Only the Primroy Arch route has some hard trails but nothing a stock machine could not handle.

These are .gpx files that you can copy and paste into your Tracks or Tracklog folder then can use as a Route for navigation.

Those Texas rigs will never make it.

Depends upon if they are setup for mud pits, replace a John boat, or use to traveling only 5 miles a weekend.

This is who you need to go with:

I'm gonna lead a group to the Tackett Creek area on Wednesday. Coal silo, wash plant, belt line and old coal mine. It's all easy trails. Several miles of blacktop to get to tackett. Leave at 9:30 from the Mexican restaurant. Plan on at least 8 hours, bring food and drinks.

No way a Yamaha could make it.

Ahh, I drive a KRX 🤪
Well we even let special needs drivers join in. I just took 5 KRX on a 101mile guided ride yesterday. They boohooed for last 40 miles they were out of fuel. Guess what they all made it back and only used 7 gal on a 10.2 gal tank. So quit fretting Francis, I do this for a living.

I hope the trails are in good shape for your group, if not those P500 better go first. That could be a menagerie in muddy conditions. Good Luck

Note: This has been the wettest May on record ever for this County, add in Memorial Day weekend traffic on 35's. Sundquist will be a mess.

If raining...

On a similar note, are there any running lists besides @TripleB's Friday Standing Stone ride?
Heres a summary

Weds
- Triple B - Ride Tackett Coal areas

Thurs
- Jackal - New River Ride
- Vondy - Jellico/Tackett Ride

Friday
- Triple B - Standing Stone Ride (Now the P500 ride also)
- Jackal - Prison Ride

Saturday
- Jackal - Waterfall Ride

More will probably be added.

Yea, I see the different rides listed, but I don't see any lists of riders/machines anywhere. Just a 'show up and ride' for those at this point?
That's how it's worked for 9 years, we don't take attendance. You there on time, you ride, if not se' la vie.

Yea, I recall that. Mrs Scoop told me she saw "lists" on here that were filling up and "closing". I told her I never heard of such a thing - you just show up on time and ride. Had to ask the question and do my due diligence to keep her happy. Thx.
I will not even attempt to herd cats that will change their minds 3x between now and 30 minutes before the rides leave out. Just look at how many changes @TripleB has made to his list just from today alone. The list is an effort in futility keeping it accurate, so why waste the time?
