Nothing broke. I'm running 30 inch tires now. I have the tender springs adjusted close to coil bind before cross over. I just bought a 2020 Talon R and will run 28's on it to run with my Turbo buddies. The Talon R is amazing. Changing the dif oil requires adding oil to the front dif very slow to avoid spillage. My under roof UNI Prefilter will need to be cleaned or replaced at around 8,000 miles. The dirty air filter intake is my only complaint. Its easy for me to fix because I have built 15 under roof snorkels. The spark plugs are high end iridium one heat range colder then the Pioneer 1000. I can see no reason to check them until 30,000 miles. My Pioneer plugs were still ok at 19,000 miles. They go 100,000 miles in a car. I plan on buying a Talon 4 next year.

Me too but had a lot of work to do. I sold my 2016 and 2018 Pioneer 1000's and showed the guys how to service them. The 2016 should have 30,000 miles on it next year and I will do another report on it. Still have my 2016 Yamaha YXZ with 20,000 miles on it and need to sell it too.

My buddy at the shop has checked a few Talons and a lot of the Pioneer 1000. Its something like out of 20 one valve may be just slightly out of spec. Honda does a great job on setup and since there is no noise I plan on checking them at around 30,000 unless I get valve noise. My buddy should have 30,000 on the Pioneer 1000 I sold him next year. If your hitting the rev limiter frequently its important to check them more often.

Thanks Bob. I don't hear any valve noise at idle but just off idle at slow speed when I can still hear for other noises I do hear a clicking noise that sounds like valves. Don't even have 500 miles yet.

Would like to hear from Honda Tech about what he has found with the Pioneer and Talon vales.

Just checked my UNI pre filter. I will not have to clean it for another couple thousand miles. This is at about 5,500 miles. I made the snorkel when new. Just being in clean air makes the filter go thousands of miles without cleaning. I don't follow in the dust. On group rides we have a one minute separation to avoid the dust and we wait at turns. From past experience the factory air filter should be good for around 30,000 miles or more. I checked the factory filter on my 2016 Pioneer 1000 with a prefilter under the hood and at 19,000 miles it was still nearly like new. Same on my 2016 Yamaha YXZ at 20,000 miles with a under roof snorkel.
