P500 56 MILES.....2ND GEAR....FUEL LIGHT FLASHES

.....56 miles 2nd gear 90%...of ride
steep... in 4 wheel drive....high altitude
....got half..the mileage..I do on a desert
ride...

You woulda thought Honda could have put a decent size tank on these things. I had to carry extra fuel with me Saturday, and I needed it before the day was over. The other machines with us didn't.

I have been on...in the p5...was a hard ride...start
to finish...that was my only....concern...fuel.
Fuel Cell.....gonna be in the cart...

Well....Your bed box is big enough to hold a 2 gallon spare gas can isn't it? I carry a bit extra in case I need to give it to somebody who doesn't have any and needs it.

I hate to say it man....but IMHO your "guzzling P5" is likely due in part to the 28" tires you are running....yes, the hills make a difference but a bigger part may be the change in overall gearing due to the tires...Please don't hit me!!!

Anyone else notice the last two fuel bars go down faster than the first two? Half a tank doesn't seem like a good point of return on a trip.

I hate to say it man....but IMHO your "guzzling P5" is likely due in part to the 28" tires you are running....yes, the hills make a difference but a bigger part may be the change in overall gearing due to the tires...Please don't hit me!!!

..putt around...in mountains
always..on the gas.to climb...

Reading this post makes me think of putting a small gas can in the "trash can mod" done under the drivers seat hole. Anyone see a problem, like heat or fumes? Just saw the fuel pump is internal so that rules out a simple dual tank idea.

A gravity feed fuel cell - manual valve to fill stock tank is a great idea RocMar.. For now I'm just going to carry 1.5 gallons in a two gallon safety can in one of my boxes. I don't think even a two gallon can will fit in the trash can under the seat.

issue...
If we go for weekend
....take fuel..
