I have stock deluxe rims on my 1000-5 now and 28x10x14 Outback Max tires. I like the look and performance but we ride a lot of dirt roads and it’s a rough ride at lower speeds on them. Looking to get more all terrain tire so trying to figure out what to order. I also want same front to rear if possible for rotating and spare.

Most aftermarkets sets seem to be 7” wide rims but I seen a set of 10” wide rims and 30x10x14 STI X comps at dealers today and really liked the look. If they had been right lug pattern I probably would have bought them. I like a more straight sidewall and would prefer not to have balloon look.

Will 10” wide be ok or should I stick to 7”?

Will going up to 30” from my current 28” make a noticeable performance drop?

And I have 2.5” Highlifter bracket lift so will 30” give me any issues with clearance?

Thanks for any and all input.

Sorry guys I called dealer to verify the size he told me on the set I seen today and they were 7” rims. So that takes that question out of equation. Still would like to hear opinions on 28vs30” and also what offsets I need.

I think with 30's you would want satv arms 7 " would be way to go, wouldn't need 10" unless you were putting like 12" wide tires on nice looking wheel ! I like it

I like the taller tires, minus the lift. Taller tires don't change the angle of the shocks or axels, my 2 cents!

I will soon install front offset a arms to clear the path for 30's.

Just waiting on the new ball joints to come on.

I'm pretty sure that only undersized 30's will clear with factor a arms.

Think most 30's are under sized unless you run 30 psi. @nbomar has some tires that run 30 inch with normal tire pressure, can't remember what brand.

Roctanes XD. Big, heavy, tough! Arms, shocks, and lift... still rub on some spots.

Guess this answers my 28” or 30” question. Only about 1/2” clearance on front right now with 28”. Looks like 14x7 rims and 28x10x14 tires it is

Also, if you used the same width wheels on all four corners, wouldn't that require spacers on the rear?

Is that with stock suspension?

That was with stock suspension and 2.5” HighLifter bracket lift running stock wheels with 28” Outback Max tires.

Now I’m on 15” Fuel Lethal wheels, 31” Outback Max tires, 2” rear wheel spacers, 1” front wheel spacers, HighLifter 2.5” bracket lift and HighLifter front and rear arched a arms. Fox QS3 shocks will be here this week

Sweet!! I'll be running some type of aggressive DOT radial for medium / hard surfaces. Just got mine street legal today. I want as tall a tire as possible to reduce my engine rpms at speed without killing my bottom end.

With an all stock setup this 28" tire is as much as my machine can handle . Hard to hit rev limiter on level ground now . Noticeable power loss in 5th and 6th gear . They are about 2" in diameter larger than the stock tires I had .
