Good suggestion it looks like they do offer one 12", 4+3 wheel in their packages for the P500.

Chuck how do you find the stability with 26"? And are you using spacers?

I think most will find that 5+2 offsets will give them the stability they need going to 26's. The only reason I added spacers beyond that was because I added weight up high and I could feel it changed the COG. 26's on stock wheels and no spacers isn't recommended, there's been some horror stories documented here with that setup.

Thanks guys. I'll check Dennis Kirk again. I thought it would be convenient to have them shipped already mounted but it looks like I may end up buying wheels and tires separately at the best prices and just try to mount them myself. I've always done my motorcycle tires and I won't even have to break the bead with new tires and wheels.
With Dennis Kirk you don't need to buy a package. Just pick the tire's and rims you want and they will mount them if you ask them too.

Ok good to know. I'll compare them to Rocky Mt ATV and order from one or the other.

*Just checked, 26" BH 3's with ITP SS312 wheels about the same price, Rocky Mt ATV $860. Dennis Kirk $874

Been ordering from Dennis Kirk since the 80's. Got my first set of tires for the P5 from them too. Ordered on a Sun night and they were on the porch Tue morning. One day and sh**. 👍

Yeah I buy motorcycle tires from them and have had them show up the following day before, usually the second day though. Most of the time they drop ship from Kentucky.

I’d go with bighorn 2.0’s over 3.0’s - much lighter

I'm interested in a 26" tire / 12" wheel package, prefer 4/3 offset which would save me buying spacers. Prefer aluminum but steel wheels if there's much savings. I understand back spacing but confusing to me is 4/137, 4+3, or 4/137 - 12mm, 4+3?
I suppose intermediate type tires as use will be dry and wet ground/grass, dirt and some paved road, snow, little mud. Maxxis Ceros, Duro Frontier, Maxxis Vipr, Kenda Bear Claw HTR, etc. Any favorite places to buy from or package deals you're run across recently?
Might want to consider spacers instead of offset wheels. The affect on the machine is the same and you preserve your ability to remove the spacers and retain your original 50 inch machine for narrow trails if you ride on any. Just an option.

How much lighter are BH 2's over 3's?

Yeah I don't see many 4/3 offset wheels so I think I'm just going with regular 5/2 wheels with 9" F, 11" R tires, and if it's too tippy I'll have to buy spacers. I'm not really concerned about staying right at 50", 52"-54" world work as well. I had a Mule 610 which was 52" wide and it fit around all my wood trails with ease. My newer 60" wide Mule is a tight fit in a number of places so I would sometimes take my Rancher. The 520 is replacing the Rancher.

Look at mudthrowers.com- seems to be the most accurate for tire weight. Only problem I have with bh3’s is if u want same size tire on all 4 rims....front and back are completely different treads

I'm looking to get after market tires & wheels for my new 520. Locally I can get Kenda Bear Claw HTRs with ITP steel wheels, including lugs and center caps, for $650. 25x8x12 on front and 25x10x12 on rear.

Is that a good price? And any thoughts on those tires?

I already ordered two pairs of SuperATV 1.5 inch spacers from Amazon. I'm wondering if I jumped the gun on those. Maybe I won't need them? I'm wanting more stability and traction, more so than ground clearance.

wvupsc, I'm still deciding myself but my only thought is that seems like a lot to spend to end up with the same looking wheels and just 1" larger tires that only gain you 1/2" more ground clearance.
