Latest air filter purchased from my local dealer had smaller diameter orings for both the filter seal and the lid seal than any I’ve purchased before. Ended up reusing the old ones as I was afraid these were so much skinnier, I wasn’t going to get a good seal. I’m working with dealer also to try and figure out what has happened. Hopefully picture is clear that the new orings on the right is a smaller size.

We recently had a Talon filter with these in them as well, I'm not sure what became of it.

I'll ask tomorrow
Did you guys come up with anything? My dealer measured some pioneer gaskets today and they were slightly smaller than what came with my recent talon air filter. And he measured another new talon filter he had in stock, and those seals were the same as I what I just got. I’m not satisfied that these new ones are going to seal good, so I reused the old ones.

FYI I'm on my my 5th filter with over 18k miles on my 1000-5 and have never changed that gasket.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but 2 weekends ago I finally changed the air filter on my 2018 P1k5 with about 2500 miles on it ( it sees a lot of utility use, not much trail) and the cover seal from the factory was completely missing. I reused the air filter gasket as it looked like a pia to replace, and the cover gasket I finally got ticked off enough to cut the seal and splice in a section with 2 dabs of rtv.

With the cover gasket missing the inside of the air box was really clean. 🤷‍♂️

I reused both gaskets on my talon last year… that filter looked like it had been drug thru the mud with 1500 miles on it …

With a prefilter setup I doubt one would have to monkey with the talon air box much if at all.

I can confirm that - I put a snorkel and UNI foam pod filter on my Talon before its first mile. I'd open the airbox to check on the filter every 5k miles or so and it was always pretty dang clean.

After almost 5 years and 16k miles, I felt guilty and replaced it.

The stock air box assembly is trouble looking for a place to happen, the less you open it, the less your exposure ... and you will get over the 3" hole in the body panel. With the UNI pod filter, I can see when it needs to be changed (I have 3 and rotate them) and it takes 5 minutes.
