Has anyone measured the 28X10X14 terrabites aired up? Just wondering how close to 28" they are...
I'ld go with the 27x11-14/27x9-14's if I went with XD's.28x10 will clear with 2" lift only on 5+2 wheels.
Good to know. They do run small which isn’t a problem if you know it.
Get the 30’s and they are about 28.5 depending on pressure of coarse.

Ride fast hit hard!
That’s cool, what trails were you on?Interesting.. cause the set on my Pioneer is the same set I had on the Viking. Those tires did a 3 day/ 200 mile rip from Idaho to Montana and back on pretty much ALL rock. Fist sized gravel, often at speeds of 40mph +. They performed flawlessly.
My daughter and I (along with a couple cousins & friends) did the Magruder Corridor. It goes from just south of Elk City, Idaho over to Darby, MT.That’s cool, what trails were you on?
Omg that’s so b****in!!!! Did you camp trail side?? Through the Bitteroots and over the continental divide.View attachment 96236

It was a kick in the butt, and a ride I'd do again in a heartbeat.
Is that a picture of an old fire look out? Did you do the side trip to Paradise at the confluence of the Selway?View attachment 96236

It looks like the Terrabites run both short and narrow?I have not and we sold the 28’s.

Here’s how the clearance is with 30’s and forward a-arms and a small spring spacer. We bought some spring spacers and cut them in half so that we wouldn’t make it to tall.

Yea, we did. We got to the trail head on the Elk City side on a Weds afternoon, and got as far as Poet Creek campground where we camped the first night. The next day, we went up to Burnt Knob (the picture shown)which was really cool.. except our buddy riding my cousins 1971 SL350 dropped it on the way up and broke the shift shaft. My Cuz switched bikes with him, got it into 3rd gear and we proceeded to go all the way across and camp at Fales Flat campground. My other cousin came in his Wrangler, so between the Jeep and my Yamaha, we packed most of the stuff as everyone else was on trail bikes. The Jeep went into town with all the fuel cans AND the SL350. My cousin found some dude in Darby that let him use his welder, & he fixed the SL. Friday was a bit of a clusterf&@k. We were headed back intending on camping at Observation point and the Jeep missed the turn & went to Paradise.. My little brother jumped on his bike to go find him, and ended up hitting a deer at 40+ mph. He got beat up pretty bad, but was more pissed that the deer ran off before he could get his .40 out and shoot it.. Anyway, he got a ride into Hamilton to the hospital, where they patched him up. Thank God for the Jeep! We camped there at Deep creek and waited for them to come back. Saturday was pretty quick.. we just rolled back over, loaded up and headed home.Is that a picture of an old fire look out? Did you do the side trip to Paradise at the confluence of the Selway?
Do you know how close you were to Lemhi Pass?Yea, we did. We got to the trail head on the Elk City side on a Weds afternoon, and got as far as Poet Creek campground where we camped the first night. Next time, I want to check out Paradise, and maybe Hells Half Acre, and Green mountain too. It is an epic ride for sure.
Do you happen to have a picture/link for those?I'm going to try the BFG Mud-Terrain KM3, which BFG now has a specific UTV tire. They are not DOT rated, but the truck version has rave reviews. They are heavy, 39 lbs for the 30", and I have not seen height specifications. They look good in person and are 8 ply rated.
That's not a rock! We ride trails that have big rocks!Interesting.. cause the set on my Pioneer is the same set I had on the Viking. Those tires did a 3 day/ 200 mile rip from Idaho to Montana and back on pretty much ALL rock. Fist sized gravel, often at speeds of 40mph +. They performed flawlessly.
I am going to DENNIS KIRK and going to buy the Maxxis Viper. They have the best deal.I've been checking Tread Pattern,Ply Rating and Load Capacity for All Terrain/Hard Pack Trail Tires.Aggressive tread pattern, puncture resistance and good tread life is desirable. These are the choices I've come up with, the top 4 are also DOT certified which is a plus but not necessary.
EFX Motohammer
STI X comp ATR
Interco Sniper 920
STI Black Diamond XTR
STI Roctane X2
STI Roctane XD
Maxxis Vipr
Comments please.
