I've been checking Tread Pattern,Ply Rating and Load Capacity for All Terrain/Hard Pack Trail Tires.Aggressive tread pattern,puncture resistance and good tread life is desirable.These are the choices I've come up with,the top 4 are also DOT certified which is a plus but not necessary.

I just learned BFGoodrich is making UTV tires too. They're pretty tall and I don't see any load specs on the site.

I have about 1600 miles on my MotoHammers now, and have been very pleased with them.
The first 1000 mi they were on my Viking... locked rear diff.
They still have 80% tread left too.

I’d say the only terrain they don’t excel at is deep snow or deep mud.

I see a lot of people running Tusk Terrabites now if u havent looked into them. The rocktane xd is probably the toughest and best all around offroad but heavy imo.

General graber A/T in 27x8.5r14LT. That is a truck tire that looks like the older bfg’s. 60k tread warranty and 1500lbs capacity.

I would take the Moto Hammers off the list if you ride hard in the rocks, I had a set.

I believe the Roctane is so large and wide that 28” version requires forward A-arms or lift.

@JACKAL May know for sure.
28x10 will clear with 2" lift only on 5+2 wheels.
