You guys that are building Axial kits... Their factory shocks SUCK. I forgot how bad they were. All 4 of my kid's were completely blown out so I rebuilt them. After the first one I got online and ordered a full set of the Element shocks so I never have to deal with this trash again..

Got them all apart and only one still had oil in it. Cleaned them up and put fresh 30wt oil. If you're building these for the first time, put a little grease (preferably Team Associated Green Slime if you've got it) on the o-rings to help possibly keep a little oil in them. I ran out so I used a little grease on the o-rings and a little in the cap.

Bone dry... I built these per the manual prior to pulling them apart tonight. Axial shocks have always sucked

Grease here then screw cap on. They will still leak out but this will at least slow it down

I ordered the Element shocks because I've built 100's of them over the years (they are the same shocks as Team Associated race vehicles). The Traxxas TRX shocks are also really good and you can snag a set of takeoffs on eBay for around $50 usually.

What WT oil did you use?
