Even though the 55T is slower, can you tell if it has more torque?
Yes more torque and I needed it with the larger tires, steering servo has got to go! Got a call into RC Tech! No, that was my next dumb question to ask him. I had a blast crawling this afternoon! The Night Crawler bumbles up and down the rock piles pretty good, just need more power! HA!

Those Axe setups are supposed to be nice. Let us know what you think of it. I'm sold on the $150 fusion FOC setup. I ordered another this morning to replace the one I stole out of my kiddos truck
@Adam490 ,what is the real world difference in CMB's motor combo going from 2100kv to 1400kv?

Thanks for the input, I am a rookie at this too. More power is always good even though it will find the next weakest link!

As long as the voltage is the same, it will be torquier but slower. I'd have to look it up to be certain, but I'm pretty sure Kv x Voltage = the RPM for the motor. Lower Kv motors have less resistance and can spin up quicker, so they usually are less susceptible to overheating as well (that's why they are used predominantly in the crawlers). You also have more options on the gearing on a lower Kv before thermaling it, so you can technically make it "faster" than a higher Kv with the right gearing.

Think the steering servo is next? In the RTR.
Get this steering servo (it comes with a nice dual clamping aluminum horn as well). It's almost 300oz/in on 5v. You can't beat it for $20:

The RTR servo in your truck is plastic geared and only 124 oz/in. It uses a 23T servo horn so you'll have to swap it out for the one that comes with the new servo (it's a 25T, the "T" is the tooth/spline count on the servo horn).

Foam inserts ?
Crawler Innovations foams are supposed to be the best. I've never changed any of the foams in the crawler tires so I can't help you there. If I had a group to crawl with or start doing the competition stuff I'll invest in a few different sets to try.

Like I said this is getting outa hand, I think a lot more about tires, wheels and mods for the crawlers than I think of for my real truck. HA!

On the plus side, at least if something you buy fails on the crawler you won't die
But makes me sad when I break stuff. HA! When I'm really crawling like the fire wood pile on my trailer I will get it into a bind and have to wait for a few seconds, back up with the TH Rate wide open to complete such said task. So I guess the throttle rate has to be at 100% to have full torque? Or are you going to tell me this is going to be expensive? HA!

All the throttle rate does is control how much juice to send the motor. If you set it to 10%, it only sends 10% of the power to the motor when you mash the throttle. Are you changing it?

Yes I thought it was speed control, It still hangs up some with 100% TH rate though and the steering is very weak in a jam, I 'm going to get the servo you recommended. Been watching all these You Tube vid's, about 95% are want to be analyst or camoed advertisements. I do appreciate all your help. I've got my controller set at TH-N, ST-R, TH Rate-50%. After messing with it the steering rate has to be at 100% to get full power to the servo?
