Well I found out to day you can fry all of your electronic's by routing the wires over the ESC, yea I know rookie mistake , fried all the electronics except the motor.on the Gatekeepr
Smitty... you've had a rough go of it here lately. The answer to your problems is more Busch Light!

HA! Gatekeeper is up and running! The Honcho wasn't my mistake, the transmitter just quit and it took off wide open and before I could get it untangled out of the Honeysuckle vines fried the motor. Honcho is next.

No pics of the aftermath?
Nothing to see on the Gatekeeper, just make sure no wires run across the ESC, even on the RTR's. The motor on the Honcho is fried, due to transmitter failure, it just took off WFO and it ran into a Honeysuckle, before I could get untangled, it fried the motor.

Still looks good with the zebra paint scheme though.
Thanks and thanks to @Adam490, this is my favorite Rock crawler. The owner of the Hobby shop that I have been buying all these crawlers from felt sorry for me and helped me sort out the issues with the Gatekeeper and the Honcho, he's over 70 and he liked the paint job, he just laughed and said cool!

I'm looking for a beginner crawler maybe a redcat everest 10. Anybody have experience with one of those?
I would go with the RTR Losi Night Crawler, great crawler out of the box, $ 300.00 - $ 350.00. RTR-ready to run, you will need a battery and charger. This is a lot of fun! Enjoy! Where are you located in AR?

I've never actually seen one. I know the other Redcat stuff is basically a hair above toy grade, so I'd personally have a hard time shelling out the cash on one when you can get an Axial/Element/Traxxas for not too much more. It may be a good machine, but I can't say I'd have high hopes.

Low Center of Gravity. There are a lot of aftermarket chassis' that let you mount everything lower. Team Garage Hacks makes some badass transfer cases and transmissions as well. I'm going to pick up one of their 2.low transmissions when they come back in stock and start on a Gspeed V3 Carbon Fiber build.
I've been looking at those kits, way over my head! HA!

Well I got into trouble this morning, wife tells me I have to clean up the office / RC work shop, it was getting outa control, I admit! Going to have to build some shelves for the garage to store the crawlers on. Here's a picture of what I've got so far, excluding the SCX 24 Jeep, the Blue Night Crawler is the most capable, but it has mods, the Tan Honcho is very capable, the ECX is great for a 1/18 scale, but my favorite is the Zebra Gatekeeper, it works great, doesn't work as well as the Night Crawler but pretty close for a 1/10 stock crawler. You see a theme? I like rail trucks!
