I had a 2022 P1k5 and it was good. It wasn't great at anything really but good at several things if that makes sense. I need room for 4 seats and I'm not a fan of the longer wb machines.
The length of the can am max commander was a concern for me as well. I would need a bigger trailer and tougher to plow snow with and get around my yard. I’m planning on trail riding but it would be an 80/20 split. 20 being the trail riding so I figured the Honda is good enough. That can am commander I thought was hot though. If my needs were flipped I would have suffered getting in and out of the bucket seats and dealt with the high bed height.

Didn't you trade a 22 p1k for a RMAX? Welcome back!

I've done alot of wheeling and dealing on atv's and sxs's in my day. Yes I had a Rmax, sold it, got a p1k5 sold it and got another rmax.....I sold it and I've been machine less for about 4 months now...

wow that's wild. I'm pretty committed when I buy something - unless it's a total piece of garbage I guess. Each of my Hondas I had for at least a few years. Over 5 years with my 1000-5. Not to totally derail this, but I'm curious why you didn't care for the Rmax. A friend of mine just got an Rspec 4 seater. I strongly considered a wolverine 1000 just cuz they have crazy deals on them, but that was before the crazy deals on Ridge's

My jeep patriot is a cvt, Hyundai drive train I believe. That ruined me on belt drives for anything other than a snowmobile. That jeep has a terrible rubber band effect if the rpms are low but just not quite enough to downshift. Lots of bucking and jerking. It also loses a tremendous amount t of torque through that system, it's the biggest gutless wonder I've ever driven. If I wouldn't have inherited it I never would have got it...
I'm not an expert.... but I think the two reasons they went to CVT are fuel economy and cost savings. Because there just isn't any advantage to them to me. They totally sacrificed drivability when they went with CVT's

well after my divorce I went crazy on spending and buying alot of stuff to make me happy! lol... but then I met my now wife and I had to straighten up! lol. The Rmax has some great features like awesome Fox suspension, awesome trail manners and capable 4x4 system. The main reason I sold them is because I simply wasn't comfortable in the cabin. I'm 6'4" 300 lbs and I simply felt cramped in the cabin. I bought the 4 seater Rmax because the girls wanted to go riding with us but the noise was to much for them. They are terribly LOUD and cabin noise will deafen you, especially if you have a enclosure on it! I wished I would have kept the '22 pioneer I had. I think it had some issues being the first year of the revision and I got tired of fiddling with it. I think any first year anything is for test dummy's. Fast forward to now and things have changed. I bought some real estate property so I need something with a dump bed that I can write it off using it for property maintenance but still use it for trails. I miss how quiet it was and I can deal with the seat heat. Live and learn has been my life lesson

Well I'm still enjoying the roof and shocks I got from you. Hopefully you'll make it to takeover.

I didn't realize they were so loud. When I think of loud buggies I always compare to the teryx - they really roar when you get on the throttle. My cousins wolverine 850 isn't bad at all as far as noise, so I just kinda assumed the rmax wouldn't be that bad.

any leads on a new pioneer??

I believe Honda of Fairfield (near Cincinnati) had some inventory available a couple of weeks ago posted in thread on here. I’m not in the market so I didn’t pay any attention to it. You can search dealers within XX miles of yourself on the Honda powersports website though. Then start calling.

The 850 is whisper quiet. The RMax 1000 is like a stock car compared to a golf cart.

Mines the one on the right. It still had 3 of the original tires on it and they all were cracked real bad. I got lucky and found the other one for $500. I swapped the tires off and some other parts, then sold it to my local powersports repair shop for $500. It needed a little work but I really needed my $500 back and wanted to do a solid for them (good guys). I also prefer the black seat. I took the one off the parts wheeler - pretty sure its one of the $70 amazon ones. it is nice and comfy.
@ehart814 I put running boards on the Honda 300 yesterday.

Those are great.... I've had my eye on them. Make sure you check/change your rear diff oil if you haven't. For some reason it seems to get neglected. Mine was BAD BAD - nothing but a little gray sludge. I flushed it and flushed it with diesel, then engine oil, and finally filled with gear oil and fortunately it is okay. I also am pretty sure that mine had never had the engine oil changed!!!!

I'm about 40 min from HOF. They don't show any 24s left. I've located one in Indianapolis and just negotiating with them. I'll take it to HOF for service. They know their stuff

That was the first thing I did, changed ALL fluids.
