Hey guys. First post here. I’ve got a 2016 pioneer that I bought new way back then and I’ve just now made my first mods. Not sure why I’ve waited this long. I mostly just use the pioneer for work around the homestead. Put the winch on to pull trees from the woods so I can grab them easily with my tractor. It also works well for pulling up small stumps. I then added a hard switch for my tank sprayer that I can easily disconnect and take out of the bed. Not the cleanest install and if I had it to do over I would have done a few things differently. But it turned out pretty good. I’ve still got a blank in my panel for another switch so now to decide what I need next! 9cfe017acc026c0abdef9c14b5a7cd3b

How's the Badland winch holding up? Have you had a chance to test it out several times. I'm no the verge of getting one.

Mines working fine. I ditched the cable and replaced it with 7000lb synthetic rope that has survived 1 winter of snow plowing and several self rescues.

I've battle tested mine on the P1k5. I picked up another one when they were on sale a while back just to have in case this one goes kaboom. My father has a few he uses around the farm that have not had any issue either. We used one on a hitch mount with two snatch blocks and an extension to pull his tractor out of the pond... it did the job but one of the cage rails broke the casting when the cable wound too tight to one side. Harbor Freight took it back no questions asked for a new one.

tl;dr - Buy one, they are solid. Really slow recovery speed compared to some higher priced winches but tough as nails.

That's great to hear from both of you. I picked up the Badland 5000 a few days ago for $159. Waiting on the KFI mount now.

Go ahead and pick up a Hawse fairlead and synthetic line while you're waiting. Much easier to do that while you've got the bumper off and installing winch than deciding to do it later.

I'll wait until the wire rop is in bad shape then maybe I'll do the synthetic rope. For now can't justify removing the cable when it hasn't been used.

If you don't plan on using it often the wire is fine. I've had the wire on my Foreman Rubicon for 2 years on a Badlands 3500. Just remember to sand the drum when you replace it with synthetic or it may eat up the rope.
