Hi,

I am a new supporting member who just got a 2017 Honda Pioneer 1000-5 and am going through the basic maintenance stuff. I decided to throw a voltmeter on the battery to see where it was at since I bought it from an auction and figured it had probably been sitting awhile. The batter is reading 18 volts. It has the oem 12 volt battery on it. I have driven it about a mile for test driving and that is about it. How could it be holding an 18 volt charge?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

Check the voltage running and not running at the battery with a voltmeter. Either bad gauge or voltage regulator.

Let's talk about how we can get 50% more out of my battery.
