My oem battery failed recently. I’m putting the same exact battery in once the UPS fairy brings it here.

Settled on an Interstate AGM deep cycle for the secondary. Originally wanted to keep both the same brand, however the 35ah of the DCM0035 couldn’t be beat.

I'd go with the same Yuasa OEM battery since it's regarded as a very good battery. My quick look at the Interstate DCM0035 mentioned by #annoyed above shows it is 7 3/4" in length which won't fit in the compartment under the hood.

It’s a tight fit, but it fits. Haven’t wired it in yet as I’m waiting on other parts still.
Agm doesn’t care how it’s mounted.

😁 I spent probably a month reading about batteries and dimensions while stuck at home sick (can’t move around much so excess of free time). That’s about the largest battery that’ll fit the box with no mods.

I’m going to have a ton of projects to do soon 😂

Not to get too far off topic, but I need to finish fabbing up the bumper brackets for my 30” light bar (take off from an old truck), install the 2-way radio into the pioneer, wire everything up. Going to run everything through a 40 amp relay that’s triggered off the cigarette plug on the dash (so it only powers accessories when the sxs is running). From there to a blue sea fuse block and then to various relays or switches.

Not a huge fan of electrical work, but it is one of the things I don’t eff up too often.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Visuals are always good for me.

Oh and it fits nice and snug! Haven't had any issues with it popping out of place (just sits there)

I came very close to buying the mighty max battery instead of the interstate battery.

In the end I decided I wanted the extra AH; that and I’ve had very good luck with interstate batteries in various vehicles over the years. Wanted something I can trust to run my gear when it’s needed.

Alright FWIW this is what a few others recommended when I was looking for my second battery. I've been running it for a yr now and no problems what so ever. Not bad for the price!
X2 I've had it for 2 years now.

Got 3 years on the same plus OEM battery. Does everything I need.

I work the aux battery pretty hard during plowing snow. Not a lot of long pulls but a crap load of up and down , left and right on the hydro turn on the same battery.

Thank you for the information. Did you have to do any mods to get that to fit or?

The mighty max will drop in, the interstate drops in as well, just on its side

Ok in addition to the spare battery what else do I need to hook it up properly besides the battery cables?

Blue seas system fuse block with the ground built in is a good way to connect accessories.

If you are going to run a winch, a ground bar is helpful for connecting it.

I made my own cables to minimize extra length that I would have to deal with; used a hammer crimper, terminals, and wire from Amazon.
