Off road groups have some cool people. Glad you got it taken care of.

Why the wheel spacers? You know they add to the stress of steering components, right?

It was cool reading back through your posts here. I was thinking about oak Flats again recently, and your posts about it being closed may save me a wasted trip. Again. (Somebody on FB told me it was open). I've also become pretty familiar with Montana mtn since then. Nice place to ride.

Apologize for the months late reply... The wheel spacers were put on before my ownership. As of 5-18-21 they have been removed. We'll see how it does next week and make a decision after we get back.

Weellll...

Coach accident coach 3

Coach accident 5

This why we have insurance... a lot of insurance. No one was injured, the other vehicle left on a tow truck, we drove ours home and then to the body shop were it resided for 3 months . Between the claim going to subrogation, the stupidity in the world, every RV shop in the lower 48 being crazy busy, the coach being a 2003, on and on and on.. 3 months :(..

Anyway.. speaking of parts availability.. guess what I had trouble sourcing?? 🧐 No factory tie rods for me...

If I bend these from Super ATV I'll probably be in the market for a new machine 🤪

While it was in pieces we installed a 10" electric fan in the engine compartment under the front seat (sorry, no pics) and I did a little shopping...

Doesn't rattle, it's out of the way but accessible:

So.. While the coach was at the shop being repaired I gave the Pioneer some love and $$. Got the coach back and immediately started the couch "project" which led to about 7 other coach projects which next thing we know it's Mach '21  ... Time to get the adventures back on track  ... Lake Mojave it is ...

Lake Mojave is down stream from Lake Mead, above Bullhead City AZ / Laughlin NV. NV on the west shore, AZ on the E shore. Unlike Lake Mead, Bullhead City / Laughlin NV / Colorado River area or even Lake Havasu further south it's not typically overrun by snow birds or CA.. in this respect it did not disappoint. We pretty much had the "trails" to ourselves. I use the term "trails" very lightly as most are just dirt roads.. However... IMO.. scenery wise, a stunning place to be in March.. experience wise, miserable place to be in August 😰.

One of the locals checking up on us:
IMG 2935 309

The above picture and the next 2 should demonstrate 4 days of easy "trails":
IMG 2931 116
IMG 2940 244

However... even the "easy" trials can hold a surprise.. Day 3 we are out and about climbing up out a wash. The trail had a foot deep rut running along the right tire track. Pioneer was placed to the left. About 1/2 way up the approximate 150' long section the rut veered towards the left. Decision made to cross the rut to place machine on right side of trail. Machine got squirrly, brake application instead of throttle which unload the front end. Front end swung to the right right side which was the low side. Here we sit across the trial, right rear in the rut, left front tire in the air . RZR is at the bottom with no way around, it is in a useless position. Winch, recovery strap.. no trees, no one huge rock 🤔.. but we do have "scrub" brush here in the desert and they actually have an amazing root system, especially if you find 2 or 3 together that were about 50' away .. score 💪.. Recovery class 101 in session .. Everyone played a role from pulling out the winch line, positioning the recovery strap, back filling the rut w/ rocks, me cleaning off my jacket after using it as a "anti cable whip" in case of a cable breaking to yes of course, respooling the winch line after all said and done.
Nobody got hurt, got to teach some basic recovery, the oldest learned the brake pedal is not always your friend and teamwork is critical.
Worst part is not one picture 😔.

Mid day 4 we move camp.. the advantage of an RV, if you don't like your neighborhood, leave. If you can appreciate the desert, Lake Mojave is beautiful area. The condition concessionaire has allowed the "RV park" and surrounding "trailer park" to get to is disgusting. I didn't leave anything there we need to go back for.. enough said.

Moved 30 miles to the east, Golden Valley AZ. Trade Winds RV Park. No grief being 65' long or multiple vehicles. Just "thanks for staying with us" and "here is a spot you can keep your trailer and machines close". Why we didn't plan for here to begin with... blonde moment on my part.

Ended up being a down day. Between my daughter and son in-law, 3 grand kids, our family, we hosted 10 for dinner that night.. in the coach.. we realized we finally had the perfect floor plan for our needs .

Next day, Friday, time to head back so the boys can spend the weekend with their Dad, then Krista and I can continue on to the next leg of the adventure.

But 1st:
I-40 E of Kingman. It's March, it's AZ 🧐...
IMG 2956 44 1

"It'll be fine" I say. "Once we drop onto Hwy 93 it will be dry" 😂
Hwy 93 S of I-40.. Again, before I get tooo roasted by those of you that actually live in snow.. it's March, in AZ..

Wellll... the little RZR was tired and decided to take a nap 🙃. His attempt to keep it out of the rocks didn't quite work out. He was at a crawl and managed to get it shut down as it was laying over. We pushed it back over by hand, gave things a bit to "settle" and moved on only to discover that tail spur ended in about 1/4 mile 🤨. Broken mirror (replaced) and some scratched paint on the door. Just reinforces why I always tell our family "keep your hands and feet inside the ride at ALL times" .. although they probably have a couple other words for my take on "reinforcing" 🤣..

I "think" the failure started when I used to all but flatten the tires to load it in the toy hauler.
No matter, fixed it when we got home.
Called the SxS shop from glamp. My only requests for the wheels was "black" and basic. They put this together:
10 ply and DOT rated. 27.5" measured height. We'll see if they rub on tomorrow's adventure..
