Look what the big brown truck brought me today! Install took about 15 minutes but should have taken 5. I downloaded the install instructions direct from Honda's site. First of all they state that you have to drill 3/8" holes for 4 of the push pins. They then tell you to put the shorter push pins into those drilled holes (it comes with 2 different sizes). I'm not sure what they were on when writing the instructions but 3/8 is TOO LARGE. The pins just wiggled around in the holes even after being snapped in. Luckily the old "long" pins I removed before the install fit fairly snugly. Anyway for anyone planning to install the under dash storage I would definitely recommend starting with a smaller drill size.
The other puzzling thing was they state that the 16 models do not have the molded drill points for the holes and that you have to fit the storage compartment up and mark the hole locations. Either they lied or my dealership gave me a 17 model unknowingly. Mine is supposedly a 16 model and it has the molded drill points. Bottom line is Honda needs to get their s#!t together.
After the frustrating install I am happy with the extra storage. It doesn't even come close to getting in the way, but that's not saying much cause I'm olny 5'8".
