Ride should be much improved with the longer arms and the inward mounting of the bottom of the shock for those length arms

Yeah, I'm hoping the long travel kit significantly improves the ride quality and stability. After a short time driving my buddy's P1K5 on 814 shocks, I have a better understanding of why it's sometimes difficult for me to keep up with P1s on the trails.

Looks good! Got any daylight pics? Been waiting to see your finished buggy.

Not exactly finished, but close enough to finally take her out. I installed a set of my HTRs, 27x9x12 front and 27x11x12 rear, on steelie 4+3 offset wheels. The 27s looked better than I expected on it; thought they'd look small but they look OK IMO. I'm still likely going with 28s.

The surprise was width with the 4+3 wheels. Firstly, the front width was only 3/4" less than the rear. Secondly, overall width was near 60". I believe the rear was 60.5 and the front was 59 3/4". Not enough difference to worry about and trying to run four 10" wide tires gets a bit messy trying to keep track even. So I'm leaning toward HTR 28s, 9s and 11s and probably a 14" 5+2 wheel TBD. Still considering the Blackwater Evolutions as well.

Removed all preload from the rear shocks, have 5 or 6 threads showing on the fronts but still there's rake. I guess I'll add more front-end preload and see how it rides. I'd like to get it level-ish.

Haven't bought any Packout boxes yet.

The Shakedown Ride with @KyGal83 along went really well, but it turned into a half day ride. 😜
I'll prolly type up a ride report tomorrow.

Thoughts after first ride:

Advantages
-increased travel, flexibility, capability
-increased stability
-increased ground clearance
-increased ride comfort

Disadvantages
-spongy handling on pavement
-steering pushes a bit in cornering
-decreased turning radius
-decreased capability in mud holes

A couple of very telling pictures:

-no longer need to look for the absolute easiest, smoothest line in order to keep your teeth in your head
-climbed stuff (easily) that I'd never even considered before

The decrease in capability in mud holes was a bummer. Same tires and machine so it has to be the suspension. My supposition is that it's flexing so much that the tire can't stay planted on a line in the mud.

I'm really looking forward to more testing!
