Planning on upgrading from a 700-4 to a 1000-5 deluxe this weekend. The 2016 model is $500 cheaper plus has a $500 accessory credit. I know the changes are few for 2017 but torn on which way to go. Thoughts?

I love my just purchased 2016.

I would think that they would come down a little bit more than $500.

Get what you want but I would save money and get the 2016. You should get the 2016 for about 4000 less.

Looking at $15k OTD for the 2016 and $15.5k OTD for the 2017. Sound reasonable? Both 1000-5 deluxe.

Yes.. I bought my 16 with a roof OTD for 15,500 and that was in November. See if they won't sell you the 17 for 15,500 with the $500 accessory credit or a roof.

I just bought the 1000-3 and it was $16K OTD, with a Honda hard top, a Honda glass windshield, a Honda back window and a 4500 # winch.

For only $500 why is it even a question? Something doesn't seem right there, but for that minimal of difference I'd get the 17.

Still not worth it.
How so? We now know there aren't really any changes other than shift memory.. a thousand bucks is a thousand bucks.. if you have two machines that are identical, only one was made in December and the other February or march, what are you really paying extra for? If you prefer a color change or if the 17 offered something more, then ok..

If/when you go to sell it, it is already a year older for starters. You're going to probably loose more than $500 when you sell a machine that's another year older already, everything else being the same.

The clutch engagement is definitely different / better on the '17, and they have the somewhat improved seat heat mods.

Hope that is the case with the clutch. Went and did paperwork and walk through of the unit yesterday. Picking it up in a couple hours!

Went with the 2017 model and am OTD at $15,300.

The improvements under the seat to help the heat issues is pretty minor. I doubt the extra rubber sheet shielding they added will do much.
