I prolly hate dust more than anyone. That’s the main reason it took me so long to buy a SXS. I may have solved the cab dust issue. I’m installing 2-4” blowers to force air into the foot wells on each side of the tunnel that should pressurize the cab and keep the dust out. These blowers put out 270 CFM each and use 6 amps each. Here’s some pictures.

That’s what some say, I have seen in person that it doesn’t work. Yeah, it might help a little bit, but when you’re going slow the dust just boils in the cab

I have a 1/2 windshield and no back window and for some reason between 20-23 MPH, the dust just rolled in. It was horrible so I avoided that speed.

I hate the heat so I built a full firewall (hood to floor pan) and blocked off all the other small holes around the brake pedal to help with the heat and a nice bonus is it eliminated most (if not all) of the dust in the cab.

I’m hoping this blower set up eliminates the dust and maybe provides cooling as well

Iwould like to see the pictures of what you built if you don't mind. I was thinking of doing the same thing.

Are you scooping air from somewhere?

Because, unless you are drawing air from somewhere else other than under the hood, I think the only thing your fan setup will do is make the dust/heat problem worse.

I do not have any pics and now have the underhood tool/storage box installed and the floor pan hides it from the bottom so pics might be a bit vague at this point. I will try to snap a few this afternoon.

I wanted it to completely stop air flow and push it out the bottom/sides (instead of down the tunnel) so it spans from left frame rail to right frame rail between the floor and floor pan. Fabing the firewall was not easy. It took me 6 pieces to get it in without totally dismantling the front of the machine. It also took some ingenuity to get it around the driveline and seal the steering shaft.

Pics were hard to take with the storage box installed. It is a pain to remove so better pics will need to wait until I have a chance to remove the box.

I used 1/8 ABS black sheet plastic and put Thermo Tec Cool It on it for reflective insulation. The upper part is attached where the stock rubber cover goes. I used rubber edging to seal against perpendicular joints. Used the stock rubber cover to seal the steering shaft and pedal area.

I also insulated the cooling lines inside the tunnel with pipe wrap plus a layer of 1/4 reflective insulation....

When I replaced the stock firewall cover with the wider aftermarket one, I was amazed at how open the firewall area is, it's a gaping canyon under there. Good job on closing that off, PaulF, it looks like a lot of work. 👍

I put Uni filters on the blowers, but haven’t dealt with the potential heat problem. I think I need to build an aluminum shield in front of the filters, but not close off the radiator air.

I have installed an aluminum shield behind the radiator to block the heat. Still haven’t been out in a dusty condition to test the filters
