Have a 2020 Honda P 1000-5 which has only been used less than a dozen trips

Decided to take a trip yesterday to a local mountain on graded road

Outdoor temp was 70 degrees but inside cabin (no windows, but doors, top and full windshield) had to be 100 degrees. I was close to having heat stroke!!

I looked on-line to dis cover this a known issue and has Honda fix ..
for $140

I started looking on various forums and see the Honda Fix is a insulated cover which helps a bit with the heat coming from the engine

No Honda recall, local dealer said never heard of this problem 🙄 of course

One forum had a person post that he removed the engine cover and problem solved. But not sure is a great idea

I'm the wife and the Budget master and I am pissed.

Any recommendations short of selling?

Yea, use the search function in the upper right corner of the site... LOTS of DIY's on how to mitigate the heat.

And welcome from SE Texas
When you get a chance, go to the Welcome and Introduction forum and post up a bit about yourself and your ride with pics... These boys like pics...

The Honda "fix" was implemented on all 2017 and newer models.
Yours already has that mat under the seat.

$125 to your door and it's much better than the Honda fix. No DIY, no silver stuff, no adhesives, made to sit outside for 30 yrs so it'll last forever. Hundreds of happy customers and reviews in this forum.

You probably should have done some research on the Honda pioneer before you bought one and you would have saw the passenger heat problems there’s a lot of people talking about the problem and maybe a fix but one thing with the pioneer is you don’t have to worry about is breaking a belt

My buggy is hotter 'n Hades with the windshield down so it spends 99% of its time up (not a Pioneer). SuperATV has the flip up windshield.

Sorry to bring the bad news, but ANY utv with a full cab is going to be like riding in a microwave….even in cooler temps. The cab with the sun beating down on it will be much warmer before starting up and driving it.

Frankly the best advice is to ditch the whole cab and windshield and get a flip out like SATV windshield or a screen mesh.

you’ll want the heat in the winter time for sure.

The only other options is to sell it and buy a Northstar with AC or move to a colder climate lol
