Anyone running/wheeling 27s on 14" wheels on their 500?
Thinking maybe the Elka 1s could offset the rougher ride of less tire sidewall. I figure 27s on 14s may rub though. I would need 1+" of clearance in my current setup, yes?
@trigger, any thoughts?
did you evev find the Signal RESERVOIR
No thoughts, just experience with a P1, busted two stock front tires, 1 stock size 10 ply EFX. Had the EFX vulcanized, aired up to 13 psi, rode like a pogo stick until my new 14 rims, 30 inch tires, a-arms and shocks came in. Never looked back and haven't busted a front yet. May have jinks myself.Thinking maybe the Elka 1s could offset the rougher ride of less tire sidewall. I figure 27s on 14s may rub though. I would need 1+" of clearance in my current setup, yes?

I'm at 55" with the 28x10's. That's just 5+2's and no spacers in the front. This would be for the 500. Sometime down the road.
My 27" (on 12s) rub a bit on the 520; I could live with it.
I've recently wondered if a tire with a rounded profile would rub less than a squared off profile, all else being equal. Seems reasonable . . .
trigger, how wide are you with the 28s (on 12s?) and the arched arms?
arched arms = 28s on 14s?? 🤔
Don't know the specs on the SATV arms but the OutKast's gave 1" of lift on their own and 3" forward projection. Then with the added height of the tires, yeah you'll get some clearance and different COG. The added weight of tires is why I went go with the BH 2.0's, they're a little lighter and I only notice power reduction when trying to hit top end on a speed run. You should have plenty of clearance in the rear wheel wells.Love the thought of it. Provides 1.5" of added 'lift'.
-may rub, even with 1" offset arched arms?
-rear fender well clearances?
-bringing tippiness back into play
-adds 20 lbs in extra tire/wheel weight
currently running 4+3s front, and 4+3s with 1" spacers on rear.
One more thought, id deff put a spacer kit on with them 27’s i did with my old P5 and it made a big difference. Food for thoughtSATV's are no lift, 1" forward offset (IIRC)
Also, wheel diameter should have no affect on height, unless we're measuring in Metric.
1/2" is all they give? Hmmm. Not sure that'd be worth it given the price.Adding these arms (approx. 5 bills) for an extra 1/2" clearance doesn't seem too smart. My current 27" set up does not rub.
Unless, 29s . . . ? 🤔😆
