Thought I'd start a thread for these as they seem hard to find. I did find that there is a much wider selection of 1 3/4" clamps instead of 1 5/8". A friend gave me a set of 1 3/4" clamps and with small square of 1/8" rubber on either side they fit quite well. I made some speaker mounts out of them (attached pics). I'm still searching the web for better deals on these, I'll be sure to pass along my findings. Maybe else has info on where to find clamps and what other stuff works.

I have only found them for around $30 each. And you need 2 of them. that's $60 for stupid clamps.
there has got to be a cheaper solution. Just got to be!!!!!!

Yes hondasxs there does. I have actually found a couple different clamps for much cheaper. The ones I used were about $35 a pc. As I said, I'm finding better selection in the 1 3/4 department. I've only shortly search ebay for these and I'm already watching a couple diff ones. I hope to get time in the next few days to search a little more and compile a few links to share. I'm also going to try to check a couple local places as well.

Missed this before thanks for sharing, I have been trying to figure out a good way to mount a Kolpin boot mount to carry my gun or chainsaw.

I am currently working on a list from eBay. I'll check amazon too. If the baby lets me I'll post it tonight.

OK here's my list from eBay. I just searched 1 3/4" clamp and selected U.S. only, buy now and, free shipping. Our bars are actually about 1 5/8" but the selection for those clamps is thin. I skimmed through Amazon but they had pretty much the same stuff so I'll just post the eBay list. Keep in mind I didn't check the sellers rating on these so order at your own risk. If I get a chance to check at local stores I'll let you guys know what I find.

The first link is for a sheet of 1/8" thick rubber which you'll need since these clamps are bigger than the roll bar.

Here is another type.

But, Im kinda with Tritonman on the exhaust clamps. Lol With some of that rubber under it. A good welder could make a nice light clamp.

I added the 1 3/4" one to my list. You are right though, a good welder could make about anything work and I guess as long as it's all painted when it's done it should look fine.

These are the 41mm clamps from eBay actually made for turn signal relocation. They aren't very strong. They are hollow and the bolts are very small. They are a little snug but due to their light weight they fit well when tightened. I'll probably use them to mount a machete or small hand saw to the cage.

Here is the best deal for bar clamps.

Get two clamps for under $30.
With only using 1/2 the rubber they fit well. I'll get picture of the fit tomorrow.

Here's one from MSC. It's a vibration control clamp but can be welded to or maybe put longer bolts through it. It's for 1 1/4" pipe which measures 1 21/32 O.D. Best I can tell that is about 1/32 over 1 5/8". The clamps centers are made of polypropylene so they should tighten well.
