If this has been discussed somewhere I apologize, but I couldn't find it in the search function. I've ordered a 520(hoping the tools are the same as the 500 for the most part), and am planning what to keep with the machine and wanted to put together a tool kit with the most popular/used items needed to work on the machine. So, any help on different tools needed... ie:) wrenches/sizes, sockets, screwdriver, specialty tools, etc. would help out to see if I'm missing anything specific. TIA

Little bit of info here:

The tool list repeated:

Follow the link for pictures and some comments.
I was accused of having a 'Polaris' tool kit, but in my defense there is no fire extinguisher.

I some times add tools for changing a tie rod but have never had to (or heard of ) needing to change a tie rod on a P500.
Might need to go faster than 38.7 mph to bend one of those (actually the p500 tie rod is really short making it harder to bend).

Also I now have a basic air pump like what you find in a car with no spare tire.
Always before I was able to borrow a pump if needed.

But, the P500 has not really needed me to break out the tools.
It's kind of basic and keeps on chugging.

Thanks! I'll check out the other link as well! Funny stuff with the fire extinguisher!

put together a tool kit with the most popular/used items needed to work on the machine.

Most used tool for the P5 would be a gas can. It doesn't really need anything other than what you choose to work on. I carry all kinds of sh** for just in case and have used it to help others more than anything. If you do choose to wrench on it, buy a mess of 10mm sockets and paint them all bright orange!

And for dirty overheating radiators, a water jug and a 12v sprayer helps better than a water bottle with a hole in the cap. Thats the only on trail issue I’ve had since 2017. (Thanks again @trigger )

I carry a fairly large toolbox at all times, because I'm constantly messing with other stuff. Haven't needed it for the P5 except for routine maintenance. For everything else my shorty Winchester 1897 rides in a rack under the roof. ;)
