Convert P-2 into P-4?

Hi all, just picked up a camo Pioneer 2 seater last week (not thrilled about the camo, it was all they had left though). I'm switching from a utility ATV I mostly used for work around the yard and occasional trail riding around N. Florida. This is my first SXS though I've had ATVs and motorcycles for years. I gotta say I love this thing. The dump bed is great for chores and putting around the pasture and the extra seat compared to an ATV is going to come in handy for the wife.

I was wondering if anyone had thought of or looked into what it would take to convert a 2 seater into a 4 seater down the road? I originally didn't like the design because it seemed like the rear roll cage would get in the way of doing work, but I've since read on here that the rear roll cage can be removed relatively easily. No dealers around me had a P-4 in stock so I didn't get to inspect one, and I convinced myself that I didn't need to spend an extra $1,800 on seats I wouldn't use. Of course now I'm second guessing that decision. Really what I'm wondering is, can you just buy and bolt on the dump bed and roll cage for a P-4 and essentially have the same thing, or are there structural differences that would prevent this? If I decide I want a P-4 down the road it'd be much nicer to be able to buy the parts to convert my P-2 than to try to sell this one and buy a new one.

Thanks!

I had to decide between the p2 and p4 also. I only have 1 child still at home and he fits nicely between the wife and I if we all go for a ride. I decided to go with the p2 and if there are multiple times that arise where I wish I had the extra seats I will trade it next spring for the P4. Long and the short the easiest way to convert it is give your dealer a handful of cash and your old machine. Probably the cheapest way too..

FLMatt, Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you are part of our community for Honda owners. We have lots of info on the Pioneer and are growing each and every day.
Your topic would make a good one if one would spend the time to figure it up. I started too but got lost due to all the parts needed.
Here is a link to a parts fish...

Obviously, it would cost far more than the original price difference between the 2 units, but no reason it can't be done.

If this really is something for "down the road", then i would just wait until they have been around for a while, and you can probably pick up all the stuff off of Ebay used.
